October 1965 - Action As The Science Hill Toppers Nips Elizabethton. The win moved the 'Toppers' at the head of the class in the Big 7 Conference in this undefeated season. Kevin Coughlin (30), on ground at left, scored the games winning touchdown late in the game. Science Hill's John Rippetoe (12) mentioned in the second and third photos running the ball and being tackled. Sadly both Kevin Coughlin and John Rippetoe are deceased. Welcome to Ted's Johnson City Time Warp, a page consisting of a wide variety of past events, happenings and history in Johnson City, Tennessee. These post are attributed to many hours of extensive research and work getting the most of them formatted from microfilm from the Johnson City Press-Chronicle. Much appreciation to the employees of the East Tennessee State University Sherrod Library in the microfilm department and the Archives of Appalachia for all their help in making this happen.
