Kiwi Does Aurora Chasing!

Compared to the Northern Lights, the southern lights are alot harder to photograph, especially with the geographical distance from the south pole to the nearest country. However this year there has been a few times it has been very active, and I have been able to capture it from way up in the central North Island of New Zealand, which is normally impossible.

A couple of weeks ago the new Lady decided to spend the night. She said she was a Virgin, but I think she may have done this elsewhere once or twice before.
I debated with my brother should we go and see what she looks like, and I am so glad we did.
Massive credit to the crew of Resilient Lady for utilising the cool balcony lighting to say "Kia Ora".

Finally taken a bit of time to stitch together a couple of images I have taken of some of my favourite cruise ships in Tauranga. Each of these images is too large for Facebook to handle, and Instagram got scared by the size of them so they have been reduced in size. Each one of these is made by stitching together a large number of individual images.

I've been a bit preoccupied lately, so have not been posting much. I have a large number of photos and videos to edit and upload when I get time in front of my computer of al sorts of various things.

However, there have been a few that have been curious about the passage of Vallianz Prestige towing the Achillies Bulker. I have not been following it super close, but have checked in every now and then seeing where it gets to.

On 04/01/24 They departed Tauranga, it took them a couple of days to clear the top of NZ, and a couple more days to clear NZ Economic zone.
Since then they have been past Norfolk Island, New Caledonia and are currently south of Solomon Islands.

Kiwi Does Virgin😅

This Virgin came to Tauranga for the First time. 2 tugs was all it needed to guide it through the entrance and along side for a successful docking. It was then a team effort to tie it up with ropes.

All of this was done in front of a sizeable audience, I wonder if this Resilient Lady knew she would be watched by so many on her first time.

😂😂😂 🛳🛳

KIWI DOES SHIP SPOTTING
I accidentally knocked the power to my internet this morning so the stream was a fail. However enjoy these photos direct from camera, unedited, not even leveled (I have a habit of holding my camera on a slight tilt.
