The management of Putfontein saps has welcomed the 13 years sentence handed down to the suspect who was found tempering with in infrastructure.

In 2024 May, three suspects were found busy digging copper cables along the railway line.
The security personnel responsible for patrolling the area gave chase and arrested one suspect.
The suspect was handed to Putfontein saps for processing.
The docket was assigned to D/Sgt Moremedi for further investigation.

The Benoni Regional Court found the suspect, Raphael Vilankulu guilty of tempering with essential infrastructure and being in the country illegally.

The suspect was sentence as follows
Count 1: Tempering with essential infrastructure, 13 years imprisonment

Count 2: 18 Months for being in the country illegally.

The suspect was also declared unfit possess a firearm.

The Putfontein saps station commander commended Sgt Moremedi for her sterling work.

🚨 LIMPOPO MUNICIPALITY INSTALLS CAMERAS AT STOP SIGNS

Motorists in parts of Limpopo could soon face closer scrutiny at stop signs after the Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality installed surveillance cameras at selected stop streets in Sekhukhune.

According to the municipality, the cameras are aimed at monitoring drivers who fail to come to a complete stop. Those found to be in violation may receive electronic notifications along with photographic evidence of the alleged offence.

Officials say the initiative forms part of efforts to improve road safety and encourage compliance with traffic laws.

BREAKING: Cat Matlala To Appear in Court Alone For Tender Case.

Cat Matlala's Case Has Been Separated From High-Profile SAPS-Linked Proceedings Involving Brigadier Rachel Matjeng and National Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola.

Matlala appeared briefly in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court today (Wednesday), where the court ordered that his matter be separated from the case involving his co-accused.

During proceedings, the magistrate confirmed that Matlala, together with two other accused, will no longer form part of the main case involving 17 accused persons. The trio will now face a separate case under a new case number.

The court further ruled that the matter be transferred to Pretoria Regional Court 19 in terms of Section 75(2) of the Criminal Procedure Act. Matlala is expected to make his first appearance in the regional court on Thursday, 25 June 2026.

The reasons behind the application to separate the matter were not discussed in open court during the brief proceedings and are expected to become clearer as the case moves forward.

Matlala remains in custody pending his next court appearance.
