We are at the African Pastoralist Gathering to chart the path towards the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists and the journey to Mongolia.

International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists is here with us, and it is a lifetime opportunity to have a conversation, engage in policy, and build a global solidarity towards sustainability of pastoralist and rangelands.

Tomorrow, the world marks World Human Rights Day, and this yearโ€™s themeโ€”"Our Everyday Essentials" speaks directly to the heart of the pastoralist way of life.

For many, human rights might feel like abstract concepts discussed in city conference rooms. But for our communities, these rights are the soil we walk on and the water we drink.

At Pastoralist Goals Foundation, we believe that:
๐Ÿ’ง Clean Water is not a privilege; it is a right for our families and our livestock.
๐ŸŒพ Grazing Land is not just territory; it is the right to our heritage and livelihood.
๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ Peace & Security is the right to move freely without fear.
๐Ÿ“š Education is the right for our children to dream, wherever the herds may take us.

As we prepare to celebrate tomorrow, let us remember that dignity is found in the everyday. It is found in the ability to provide, to protect, and to preserve our culture.

We stand with every pastoralist seeking their everyday essentials.
