oo often, pastoralism is framed as a driver of climate change. We hear that livestock cause soil erosion, or that cows produce methane and should be reduced.
But pastoralism is not the past, it is the future.
βœ”οΈ Livestock mobility disperses seeds and regenerates ecosystems.
βœ”οΈ Hooves act like natural tractors, tilling soil without using fossil fuels.
βœ”οΈ Pastoralism sustains biodiversity and resilience across drylands.
Yet, our lands are shrinking β€” fenced off by private projects, energy developments, and fortress conservation models that exclude the very communities who have stewarded these landscapes for generations.
The alternative to exclusion has always been here- pastoralism itself.
