Pastoralist Goals Foundation is proud to have supported the organization of the 9th edition of the Rendille Cultural night held at El-Boran resort Isiolo. It indeed was a perfect night for community to discuss their future amidst the changing systems around them, and the inter generational dances and learning experiences ensures a thriving future for the community.

Tomorrow, the world marks World Human Rights Day, and this year’s theme—"Our Everyday Essentials" speaks directly to the heart of the pastoralist way of life.

For many, human rights might feel like abstract concepts discussed in city conference rooms. But for our communities, these rights are the soil we walk on and the water we drink.

At Pastoralist Goals Foundation, we believe that:
💧 Clean Water is not a privilege; it is a right for our families and our livestock.
🌾 Grazing Land is not just territory; it is the right to our heritage and livelihood.
🕊️ Peace & Security is the right to move freely without fear.
📚 Education is the right for our children to dream, wherever the herds may take us.

As we prepare to celebrate tomorrow, let us remember that dignity is found in the everyday. It is found in the ability to provide, to protect, and to preserve our culture.

We stand with every pastoralist seeking their everyday essentials.

We were represented by our ED Basele Stephen during Historical Land Injustice claim public hearing held in Marsabit. Our claims centered on colonial and post colonial land injustices emanating from skewed mapping, restriction into grazing blocks, and creation of National parks and Reserves on grazing land.

Pastoralism is an environmentally sustainable livelihood that nurtures the land and sustains biodiversity. Through natural seed dispersal, soil aeration from grazing animals, and the enrichment of soil through manure, pastoralists contribute to the regeneration of ecosystems.
Today, during Mazingira Day, we take a moment to celebrate those who tread lightly on the earth, nurture its balance, and safeguard the sustainable future we all seek.

Today as the Local Implementing Partner (LIP) for the Girls Excel Initiative supported by Echo Network Africa Foundation we were at Ngurunit Primary School where we delivered a SEPU made mobile laboratory to support junior secondary school students in STEM.

oo often, pastoralism is framed as a driver of climate change. We hear that livestock cause soil erosion, or that cows produce methane and should be reduced.
But pastoralism is not the past, it is the future.
✔️ Livestock mobility disperses seeds and regenerates ecosystems.
✔️ Hooves act like natural tractors, tilling soil without using fossil fuels.
✔️ Pastoralism sustains biodiversity and resilience across drylands.
Yet, our lands are shrinking — fenced off by private projects, energy developments, and fortress conservation models that exclude the very communities who have stewarded these landscapes for generations.
The alternative to exclusion has always been here- pastoralism itself.
