Hiring is HARD ‼️

But here’s my secret to finding the best candidates…

Because if you've ever built a team, you know exactly what I mean.

I manage a team of 50+ people across 5 continents, and finding the right hires?

It’s one of the toughest (but most rewarding) parts of scaling.

You spend hours reviewing resumes…
Weeks scheduling interviews…
And even after all that, you’re crossing your fingers that they’re the right fit. 🤞🏼

That's why I LOVE what Indeed is doing for business owners:
(Get a $75 sponsored job credit to boost your job's visibility at https://youngandprofiting.co/Indeed)

✅ Smart matching connects you with candidates who actually fit the role
✅ Screening tools help you filter for skills and experience
✅ Built-in assessments save you from costly hiring mistakes

I’ve found some of my BEST employees on Indeed ‼️

And it’s not just me:
👉🏼 93% of employers agree Indeed delivers the highest quality matches
👉🏼 Indeed delivers 4x more hires than all other job sites COMBINED
👉🏼 Over 3.5 million businesses worldwide trust Indeed to find their next superstar

I’ve built my team from ZERO.

And here’s what I know for sure:

Your business is only as strong as the people you hire. 🔥

Stop letting the hiring process drain your energy.

Start building the team that’ll take you to the next level with Indeed ☝🏼

“You're so full of yourself.”

You're right. I am.

Not in the arrogant, self-absorbed way.

But in the…
👉🏼 I know my worth.
👉🏼 I’ve earned my seat.
👉🏼 I’ve done the hard work.
Kind of way.

I started a media company from scratch with a team of volunteers that’s now on track to make 8-figures this year.

I’m a Top 10 entrepreneurship podcaster that’s interviewed some of the most powerful names in the world.

I’ve spoken in front of crowds of thousands and was named a 2025 Real Leaders Top 50 Keynote Speaker.

And I’ve done it ALL without waiting for permission. 💯

But it always wasn’t like this.

I grew up thinking that I had to make myself small so others felt more comfortable. Not anymore.

🫵🏼 If you’re not full of YOURSELF – your skills, your voice, your power…

Then who will be?

Take up space.
Share your wins.
Be unapologetically YOU.

And if that makes some people uncomfortable…

Just let them squirm. 🤷🏻‍♀️

📈 Success isn’t about luck… it’s about EX*****ON ‼️

This week on YAP, I sat down with award-winning entrepreneur and angel investor, Kim Perell (), who built a $100 million business from scratch and now helps founders do the same! 💰

During the interview, Kim broke down her FIVE traits of ex*****on 👇🏼

1️⃣ Vision

2️⃣ Passion

3️⃣ Action

4️⃣ Resilience

5️⃣ Relationships

She explains that these are the traits that separate dreamers from doers, and Kim made it clear that when you master these, you can massively increase your odds of winning in business and in life.

Another takeaway that I got from the interview is Kim’s 70% rule for decision-making…

And that is to NOT wait until everything’s perfect. If you’re 70% sure, then that’s your signal to take action, because speed beats perfection every single time! 🚀

If you’re building a business and need a sign to finally start… then this episode is for you! 🎧🔥

From being fired from her dream job at 23…

To scaling her company to $100M in revenue by age 30 🤑

I interviewed Kim Perell on Young and Profiting and her story will DESTROY every excuse you’ve ever made.

(Watch the full episode here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eOs_yGkB7I4)

After getting laid off, Kim got a $10K loan from her grandma and launched her business from her kitchen table.

That business? It grew into a 9-figure empire ‼️

All because of one thing: EX*****ON.🚀

Most entrepreneurs fail before they even get started.

I’ve seen people with basic ideas and mediocre quality building empires because they actually DID something about it.

And those with brilliant ideas go broke because they get stuck in analysis paralysis.

Because while you're overthinking, someone else is building YOUR business.

Harsh? Maybe. But it’s absolutely true. 🔥

Here are Kim’s 5 traits that drive ex*****on (and how I’ve actually practiced these myself):

✅ VISION: You need to be crystal clear on WHERE you're going.
👉🏼 When I first started Young and Profiting, people would ask me “Where do you see this in 5 years?” and I’d tell them: I’ll be a top podcaster that launches her own podcast network. 5 years from launch, I did just that.

✅ PASSION: Be willing to suffer for your dreams.
👉🏼For YEARS, I sacrificed my social life in order to build the YAP Media empire to where it is today. No girls' nights outs or friend’s birthdays. I would only see my family for important holidays.

✅ ACTION: Take that first messy step TODAY.
👉🏼 As soon as we get a new idea at YAP Media, my team and I take action ASAP. It never starts out perfect, but it’s always better to get started FIRST and clean up as it goes along.

✅ RESILIENCE: Keep going even when the punches come.
👉🏼 I’ve lost agency clients. I’ve had guests skip out on interviews. I’ve lost sponsorship deals. But I’ve never let any of that stop me from pivoting and pushing forward!

✅ RELATIONSHIPS: Have people who tell you the truth when you need it most.
👉🏼 As soon as I launched my social agency, I knew I couldn’t lead a full team by myself. That’s why these days I have TWO amazing business partners to bounce ideas off of and help me make the right decisions for our company.

The most successful people I know launched before they were ready.

They figured it out as they went. They made mistakes. And they kept going anyway. 🚀

So, let me ask you now:

What would you launch tomorrow if you knew failure was part of the process?

Because it is. And that’s exactly the point. 😉

It’s NOvember.

The perfect time to start saying NO to the…

👉🏼 People
👉🏼 Places
👉🏼 Things

That drain your energy and don’t serve you.

AI isn’t killing our intelligence…

It’s reminding us how fragile it can be.

Back in October 2024, I asked Mustafa Suleyman, CEO of Microsoft AI straight up:

“Are you worried AI is going to impact human intelligence in a negative way?”

His answer? “I don't see any evidence that it’s making us dumber.”

At the time, AI was still just rising.

But since then, AI has exploded 🤯

And a new study from MIT found reduced neural connectivity in people who ONLY use AI chatbots to produce essays.

AKA overreliance on AI could negatively impact our brain’s development.

So was Mustafa wrong? Not exactly.

In my opinion, it still depends HOW you use it:

If you use AI as a CRUTCH for everything you do…
You’re letting your brain go to waste.

If you use AI as a TOOL to enhance your workflow…
You’re simply working smarter, not harder. 🧠

We have the most powerful tool in history at our fingertips.

And it’s on us to decide how human we stay while using it.

Is AI making you smarter or lazier? Be honest. 👇🏼

FOUR career mistakes you should avoid:

(that I had to learn the hard way…)

1️⃣ Failing to Set Clear Goalposts
👉🏼 I spent 3 years interning for FREE - partially because I really loved working there, but also because I had no *specific* plan of how I wanted to grow at that job.
👉🏼 Know where you want to go or you’ll find yourself lost with no clear destination in mind.

2️⃣ Overworking
👉🏼 I would give 110% at my corporate jobs, and it never paid off. Even as an entrepreneur, I’ve found myself working late into the night often, but a priority of mine this year is to take more time off :)
👉🏼 Overworking will easily lead to burnout, affecting both your physical health and your productivity.

3️⃣ Not Asking for Feedback
👉🏼 Early in my career, I didn’t always ask WHY I was rejected from opportunities. Now I’ve learned to proactively ask for feedback from my team and my audience, so I know where I can grow!
👉🏼 Don't shy away from seeking feedback - it offers valuable insights on improving your performance and honing your skills.

4️⃣ Settling for Less
👉🏼 Like I said, I worked for FREE for THREE years straight. While that job definitely gave me the knowledge that I needed to be here today, I always knew deep inside I was worth so much more 💗
👉🏼 Don't sell yourself short. Know your worth, and NEVER settle for less than you deserve!

What’s a piece of career advice you’d give your younger self?

Share it in the comments! 👇🏼👇🏼
