AN OPPORTUNITY - The Yellow House Community Art Center, in celebration of its 30th anniversary, will host a yellow-themed art fundraiser in September. YELLOW, a specially curated art event, will soon be open to submission. All mediums are welcome, and artists of any age and skill level are encouraged to submit pieces for review and selection. The color yellow must be featured prominently in the work.
Artists should send good quality images of their submissions to [email protected] by September 3. Dimensions and mediums of pieces, as well as the titles of the works, should be included in the email along with the images. Up to five submissions are allowed by each artist. Not all submissions will be chosen. A minimum $10 donation to the Yellow House will be the entry fee for any works selected for the show, and all entry fee donations will be matched 1:1 by a community donor.
This is a non-competition art show. Artists are not required to sell their work, but since this is a special fundraising event to celebrate the Yellow House 30th anniversary, it is strongly encouraged. A minimum commission of 10% of all sales will go to the Yellow House, but artists may choose to increase this amount to whatever they choose. Donations made from commission sales of artwork, will also be matched 1:1.
A reception will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, September 13, opening night of the exhibit.
Work must be original, no kits and no copies. Accepted pieces must be properly wired for hanging and be safe to hold, display and store. No saw-tooth hangers. In the case of 3D works, suitable display equipment must be provided by the artist.
The show will be on display September 14 to October 11, while the Yellow House is open for lunch, Mondays-Fridays, 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and during events
