Our next release on ASIA Music celebrates nineteen years as a label, pioneering local talent to a global audience.

Nineteenlotus is a six track exploration of sound that encompasses all the strands of dance music we’ve promoted from established label favourites and newcomers alike. Marshall White, Herb Cabral & Ryan Pamatmat are label regulars. Ryan is also our label manager. Adri Malaki is returning for his third release; Kris for his second, and ASTIR Music boss, Real Gone Kid from the UK, makes his debut.

First up is that debutant. Real Gone Kid is a UK-based artist, label owner and journalist who broke onto the scene many moons ago. Signed to some cool labels including Whartone, Baroque and Pangea, it’s his breaks tracks that have been causing a stir in recent times. Taking the original's main motifs as inspiration, he draws out the emotion and intrigue of ‘Plight of the Pretenious Polymorph’ with great success.

Next, Adri Malaki drops ‘Parang Mahina’, a thunderous dub house journey choc full of ear candy and trippy e-moments that will move any floor.

ASIA Music label manager, Ryan Pamatmat, dons his producer hat again for a wonky minimal house-flavoured cut. ‘Mint Sauce’ is deliciously awkward and groovy. Rubbery bass, off-kilter vocals and spacious percussion all working perfectly for that 3 am dance off.

Kris Melendres returns to the label with the techy low end grunt of ‘The Launch’. Nuanced deep house stabs, vibey percussions and an uptempo bass line keep the dance floor full.

Next up, Marshall makes a welcome return with a personal revisit to ‘Ayahuasca Blues’ from 12 years ago that received compliments from luminaries such as Nick Warren and John Digweed. Originally dreamy and vocal, this version is dubbier, with heightened emotives and screaming guitars. It’s quite a trip!

Finally, Herb Cabral ties it all together with ‘Freedom to Groove’, a dark, bass-led houser with ‘90s sensibilities. Opening with a solid 4x4 beat and organ line, vocals and spacious FX pump the groove into peak time.

Marshall White returns to the label with a brace of exciting House cuts ably assisted on remix duties by Asia Music’s own Ryan Pamatmat and Manila scene stalwart, Herb Cabral.

Ecuadorian Swiss maestro, Marshall White returns to Asia Music after 7 years! He’s certainly been busy though with DJ sets across europe and beyond, and releases for Balance Music (with Henry Saiz), 3rd Avenue and more. Beginning his journey as a jobbing guitarist gave him invaluable experience paying a cross-section of styles before landing on electronic music in 2005. And it’s this smorgasbord of influence that makes his beats so interesting and diverse.

Take his new release ‘The Return of Baby Bastard’ with Ross Taylor on harmonica. We haven’t heard anything like it since Underworld started their career like a million years ago! Fresh and invigorating, it shines brightly among the fog of cookie cutter tech and formulaic house music that litters the airwaves.

Ryan Pamatmat opts to strip the track back for a heads down workout while Herb Cabral drops a broken beat and vibes out with trippy arps. Marshall follows up with another original track born of a filthy love of acid. ‘The Plight of the Pretentious Polymorph’ ebbs and flows with delightful waves of ecstasy. Never taking itself too seriously, it mutates and grows throughout into the wondrous sonic journey you instantly set to repeat all day.
