I was told the only way become a Casting Director was to meet one in Times Square, so I did.
I was told to make talent feel seen, so I did.
I was told to solve production problems before they became expensive, so I did.
I was told to bring ideas, not excuses, so I did.
I was told to listen in every room before speaking in it, so I did.
I was told to think bigger than the job title, so I did.
I was told to become valuable enough to be undeniable, so I did.
👉 Moral of the story?
Be careful who you ask for directions in your career.
Some give maps to places they’ve never been.
Some point you toward their dream instead of yours.
Some give routes built for a different time.
TL;DR: Bad advice costs years.
Ask people with real results.
Ask people who want you to win.
Ask people you want to win with.
