Now the rooms are again being fully used by the customer they have kindly sent us some photographs.

This is just the playroom and dressing room in this stunning house. So classy and cute 🥰

We LOVED working on these rooms. There were so many issues with the previous paint to overcome. (Too much to even begin to mention) but that's the joys and headaches of period properties. The character more than makes it worth it.

More to come from this house next year.

REDECORATION OF STAIRCASE:

This home had a lot of renovation work completed and was redecorated throughout by another decorator. The customer contacted us shortly after asking if we could improve the finish they had been left with.

The walls were very heavily stippled, the wood work wasn’t terrible but there was definite room for improvement and the panelling had only been painted with one top coat so the MDF was showing through on the flat sections.

Everything was sanded back smooth and the same colour paints were used again. Some of the previous finish and our prep photos are towards the end of the post.

This home is really lovely and the finish in this area is much more in keeping now 🥰

Not our work - There is one wall at the bottom of the stairs on the left that we have not redone yet.

Panelling was completed by . I’m sure he will post some photos of his own at some point.

APPRENTICE OF THE YEAR 🏆

Will won the apprentice of the year… across all trades throughout the UK. It’s a MASSIVE achievement.

Will has been with me since February. He has thrown himself into learning his trade wholeheartedly. He is so passionate about getting things right and making our clients homes beautiful. He also happens to have such a warm heart and a brilliant sense of humour that has me in stitches everyday.

I’ve struck gold with this lad and lf it comes across on my socials that I adore him, it’s because I absolutely do.

Finally able to share some photos of hall, stairs, and landing after we installed the coving and ceiling roses. The lights are up and they really finish it off beautifully ✨
Now that it's all coming together, it feels so much brighter bringing the space to life.

THERMAL LINED ROOM:

This is the second room to be thermal lined in this 1930s home. Because the first room massively worked.
The external walls on the inside are cold to touch and bits of mould were present here and there. Along with the wallpapers and lining papers lifting.

If you’re struggling with similar issues this is a method to definitely consider. Other options such as studding walls and applying insulated plasterboard cost significantly more and you lose space.

wallrock thermal liner was hung to both external walls using the paste that is spec’d to go with it (suitable for heavy papers and with the anti mould properties). This is hung vertically. The walls were then crosslined before being painted.

BLACK STAIRCASE:

*Well kinda, it’s F&b ‘off black’.

An awful lot of prep on this project. LOADS of stuff for Will to learn about including:-

Removing remaining wallpaper, preparing walls, skimming them, loads of sanding and getting them ready for paint.
New plastered ceilings.
Brand new wood work with knots (staircase)
Old stained woodwork (staircase)
Previously painted woodwork (perimeter walls)

Now the flooring is down it’s looking fab and a lovely transformation.

Staircase: off black eggshell
Walls: cornforth white
Ceilings and other woodwork: white eggshell.

Painted in Isomat eggshell and premium.
