Third Beard Fishing Army Veteran, Fisherman, DIY Handyman, Adventurer, I’m Just an Army Veteran who suffered from depression and rarely left the house.

I became extremely unhealthy and gained a lot of weight, complete with copious amounts of low self esteem. Now I’m trying to get outside and find the joy in life again. I’ve absolutely struggled with Snook for the past few months. All this hot weather has had them lazy and unwilling to bite in my area. I’ve seen TONS, some of the biggest I’ve ever seen, but they’ve had no interest in any lures or live bait at all.

I’ve only managed a few at this size. I’m so ready for fall when Snook is the most common fish (besides catfish 🤣) I’ll catch.

Since I’ve literally lost 100lbs since 2021, my fishing shirts aren’t fitting well anymore.

So I’m changing up my kayak fishing “uniform.” I’m sticking with the veteran theme (since I run an OCP MOLLE chest rig and OCP Boonie hat.

I picked a grey combat shirt similar to the color of my old fishing shirts. On my left shoulder I have a custom embroidered Third Beard Fishing patch. Above it I have an Iraq Veteran patch. On my right shoulder I wear my actual flag patch from my old Army ACU uniform as well as my combat patch from my uniform as well! I thought it was a great way to honor my time in.

I’m going to be looking into getting my logo printed on the Breast of the shirt and maybe my socials on the back at a later date.

I don’t think I’ll wear this outside of kayak fishing though.

I’m still happy with it.
