If your weekend doesn’t start with a biscuit, you’re missing the point.

Picture this: laughter spilling over from the table, napkins fluttering in the breeze, your favorite people passing plates of buttery biscuits topped with jam or sausage gravy. That’s Sunday morning around Biscuit Love. Choose from the Gulch, Hillboro Village, Downtown Franklin or Berry Farms and let memories unfold over flaky layers and warm smiles.

Make a plan. Gather the crew and find your nearest Biscuit Love location

✨ If Your Boots Could Talk, They’d Tell You to Go High Class Hillbilly!

This side of Nashville was never meant for off-the-rack. You need denim with a past, tees that smell like jukebox nights, and fringe that flirts with trouble. You need to reject modernity!

High Class Hillbilly isn’t about playing dress-up. It’s about dressing for who you really are. Especially when you’re chasing records, road trips, or a whiskey neat at your favorite haunt.

Get in there. Grab something with soul.

The sidewalks are frying eggs, your iced coffee melted five sips ago, and TikTok just told you books are “having a moment.” Cute.

Parnassus Books never left. It’s the kind of place where a good novel still feels like air-conditioning for the soul. Whether you’re chasing banned books, beach reads, or just something to hold instead of your phone, the shelves are stacked and waiting.

Pull up. Cool off. Take home something with a spine that actually speaks to yours.

When the family rolls into town and asks what’s good, there’s only one answer.
Prince's Hot Chicken isn’t just a meal. It’s a Nashville rite of passage. Swing through Nolensville Pike, Assembly Food Hall, Tanger Outlets, Geodis Park, or even the airport for the kind of heat that tells folks they’ve truly arrived.

Feed the crowd. Hit princeshotchicken.com for locations and menus.

If today felt like running a marathon before breakfast, may we suggest a do-over?
Summer mornings belong to flaky croissants and creamy beignets that don’t judge you for being late. The Butter Milk Ranch bakery is serving pastries slow-baked with love and breakfast sandwiches that actually stick to your ribs.

Give yourself a good morning. Find your table or take one to-go and book a spot at buttermilkranch.com

It’s hot in Nashville and everyone’s dreaming of cannonballs, popsicles, and a dip in the pool. But on this scorcher of a summer day, remember this: not everyone always got to cool off in Nashville.

Back in July 1961, two brave Nashvillians (Kwame (Leo) Lillard and Matthew Walker Jr.) tried to swim at the whites-only pool in Centennial Park. The city’s response? Not integration. Not conversation. They shut every public pool down. Just locked the gates and walked away from the water.

Today, a historical marker stands in Centennial Park to remind us. The pools may be back open, but so is our responsibility to honor those who challenged segregation with nothing more than some courage, and a refusal to stay dry and silent.

Second photo of Kwame Leo Lillard, left, and Matthew Walker, Jr. at the Walgreens on 5th Ave. N. Jan. 22, 2010. They participated in the Nashville sit-ins in 1960 and Walgreens was one of the businesses where the sit-ins were held. That photo is by
Mandy Lunn of The Tennessean. More photos also of Matthew Walker protesting.

Summer’s heat wants you reaching for simple meals. But Radical Rabbit’s Liberian greens bring something deeper. Slow‑cooked, smoky, and packed with flavor big enough to stand up to backyard gossip and porch hangs.

These greens hit the spot. Don’t let the plant‑based tag scare you. They come ready to claim their seat at your table.

Pop by the pop‑ups or order delivery. Make dinner matter.

Big rigs rolling. Venues buzzing. Merch tables stacked. Happy Jack Cap Co. knows what keeps a tour rollin.

These are caps that double as canvases for your story. Stuff your team, your crew, your artists with hats built to sell out small‑town gigs and still feel like home when you hit the road the next morning.

Summer’s half over. Time to outfit your merch lineup with a Happy Jack!

Summer birthdays are rolling in hot and Loveless Cafe is ready to turn them into memories. Think flaky biscuits piled high, country ham that hits just right, and fried chicken that makes everyone pause. Bring the crew—kids, grandparents, that friend from high school—and let a scratch-made breakfast or dinner feel like home.

Birthday candles meet biscuit crumbs. That’s Nashville tradition served up with a smile.

Tonight at 8:00pm, the Belcourt Theatre is serving up a brainy fever dream with Derek Jarman’s WITTGENSTEIN. It’s part black box theatre, part vaudeville, and all genius. Expect costume changes, deep thoughts, and just enough sass to keep you guessing what’s philosophy and what’s drag.

And if that doesn’t scratch the itch? Next week brings THE PEOPLE’S JOKER on July 16, a DIY takedown of caped crusaders and gender conformity that’s already blowing minds. Then BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN hits July 23 and reminds us why slow burns and silence sometimes say the most.

You don’t need another streaming scroll. You need a seat at the Belcourt.
