A backyard can be just grass and a fence. Or it can be the place where mornings begin with coffee steam rising in the cool air and nights end with stories told around the fire.

Gardens of Babylon Landscapes just turned one Nashville yard into something meant to last. A patio wide enough for laughter, a stone waterfall that hushes the noise of the world, a fire pit that feels like a heartbeat after dark. With irrigation and lighting stitched into the edges, it is ready for every season.

It is more than landscaping. It is a stage for living.

What’s your dream backyard, quiet retreat or a gathering spot that never winds down?

The season has turned. Mornings carry a chill, and evenings stretch longer than they did last week. Pumpkins are stacked on porches, football fills the weekends, and somewhere in the middle of it all, comfort still matters.

At Loveless Cafe, comfort shows up in the form of biscuits and gravy. Warm, steady, and familiar, the kind of plate that feels like it has been here forever and always will be. It is a reminder that not everything changes with the seasons.

This fall, let Nashville’s weekends be fueled by the food that has carried generations through autumn’s rituals.

The days are getting shorter. Porch lights click on earlier. The world feels just a little heavier than it did a month ago.

And then you meet a dog who can high-five, or a cat who leans into your hand like it has known you forever. Suddenly the noise fades. What you carry feels lighter.

At Nashville Humane Association, there are animals waiting who do not care about your inbox or your deadlines. They care about walks at dusk and quiet mornings with coffee. They care about you.

Find them. Or let them find you.

At Wendell Smith's Restaurant, everyone walks in with good intentions. Today will be the day to try something new. But then the Open Faced Roast Beef goes by, gravy spilling across the plate, mashed potatoes soaking it up, and the decision is already made. Happens all the time.

Some meals are habits. Others are rituals. At Wendell Smith’s, this one is both.

Ninety-two days until Christmas. The lights will go up on porches and windows, and the familiar songs will play in every grocery store aisle. Nostalgia will carry us back to the places and people who shaped us.

But you do not have to wait until December 25 to feel it. In just seventy-two days, on December 5, Nashville Rep will open It’s a Wonderful Life at TPAC’s Polk Theater. George Bailey will step onto the stage, and his story will remind us that one life touches countless others, that community is made of ordinary grace, and that every small act matters.

The countdown has started. To Christmas. To curtain. To remember why this story still matters.

Some shops follow trends. Goodbuy Girls writes the soundtrack.

Since 2010, this East Nashville boutique has been curating the kind of vintage boots and one-of-a-kind finds that make legends out of wardrobes. Their racks are stacked with history and swagger, worn once by someone bold and waiting now for you.

Cowgirl boots with stories stitched in, flowy tops that catch every bit of Nashville light, and accessories that turn small details into declarations. It is no wonder names like Lana Del Rey, Lady Gaga, Miranda Lambert, and Kacey Musgraves have walked through their doors.

Step inside 1108 Woodland Street and you will see why. The place is tiny but mighty, a heart-led shop where closets become archives and outfits become poetry.

🎶 Nashville is built on more than songs. It’s built on the people who carry them, the writers scribbling at 2 a.m., the guitar techs hunched over strings, the singers who give everything and walk off stage with nothing left. For every spotlight, there are a hundred shadows making sure the music gets heard.

Heal The Music Day is a reminder that those people need care, too. On Friday, October 17th, this city comes together to support the Music Health Alliance, an organization that fights so music makers don’t have to fight alone for healthcare, medicine, or peace of mind. Sending love to the heart of our music community…those facing challenges that often go unseen. 💌

At Music Health Alliance, the mission is simple: make sure no one in music faces these struggles alone. If you or someone you love needs help — whether it’s mental health resources or guidance navigating healthcare, please reach out.

Cheekwood has always known how to frame a season, but this one’s carved out in bold letters. The Masterpiece Art Series brings Robert Indiana’s iconic LOVE sculpture to the gardens, a fitting tribute to beauty in bloom and art that speaks loud without saying much. Whether you’re strolling past daffodils or planning a date that doesn’t involve reservations, this installation is your moment. Come for the pop art, stay for the dogwoods, and let the seasons shift in color and feeling.

The hills of Jalisco gave them the recipe. Nashville gave them the ingredients.

Taqueria y Birrieria Jalisco cooks the way their abuelos did in Mexico. The recipes travel from Jalisco, but the beef, corn, and produce are drawn from American soil. Together, they create birria tacos that drip with flavor, consomé that feels like a blessing, and plates that carry stories across borders and generations.

The newest location on Charlotte Avenue now joins Dickerson Pike and Madison. All three trucks are serving the same recipes with the same care. Nashville is covered.

Find them:
📍 3501 Charlotte Avenue
📍 2913 Dickerson Pike
📍 1252 Gallatin Pike S, Madison

The recipes are old. The flavors are timeless. Every bite is Nashville today.

Over a dozen pieces of vintage and designer from our leader ’s personal collection just landed on the website.

High Class Hillbilly has always been more than a shop. It is where Nashville style and stories meet, where denim, leather, and lace carry the weight of memory and the thrill of reinvention. These pieces are not just clothes, they are chapters—handpicked and lived in before they ever find their next home.

Shop the drop today before it disappears into someone else’s story.

The clock is ticking, Nashville. In just a few short weeks, the Belmont University Theatre Department will raise the curtain on Romeo & Juliet at Troutt Theater, and seats are disappearing faster than you can say “star-crossed.”

This is not your high school English class reading, this is live, electric Shakespeare performed by some of the most talented actors in the city. You’ll laugh, you’ll gasp, you might even tear up a little.

We once talked to the great stage legend Patrick Page, a man who can slip into Shakespeare like most people slip into sweatpants. He told us high school students should see Shakespeare live if they really want to get it; the rhythm, the bite, the b***y jokes their English teacher can’t explain without blushing. He’s right.

So do your AP Lit scholars a favor. Bring them to Belmont University’s Romeo & Juliet at Troutt Theater. Let them watch heartbreak and poetry unfold right in front of their faces. Then sit back and wait for the “I finally get it” moment.

Don’t miss your chance to experience it: September 26 at 7:30pm, September 27 at 2:00pm and 7:30pm, September 28 at 2:00pm, October 2 at 7:30pm, October 3 at 7:30pm, and October 4 at 2:00pm and 7:30pm. Get your tickets now before they’re gone.
