Until this podcast, despite having worked with VIP for years, the statistics of sexual abuse never really hit me.
*
Then I launched this podcast and it just hit different. More than half of my guests and potential guests have either been victims of sexual abuse or their partners have been. A real eye opener for me, along with what felt like a calling to explore this direction.
*
As of 2024, over 53% of women and over 29% of men reported experiencing contact sexual violence...and I had no idea it was that high. So, I invited Chelsea Falotico, VIPs Community Manager, to join me on an episode to explore sexual abuse and how we can make a difference.

The statistics of sexual abuse for women are incredibly heart breaking and astounding to me....and NOT where I thought this podcast was going to go at all.
*
Since starting this podcast, the last three episodes the women were affected by sexual abuse. Either their own experience or their partner's experience, but it's had a grave impact on their lives. And then a few women reached out to me wanting to tell their story of sexual abuse, but after consideration, I felt like perhaps they may not be ready to tell their story on a platform that can be so public.

This episode sent me into a deep meditation and conversation with a dear friend because I felt like the universe was trying to tell me something...while I think I may have figured it out, this episode lead to the very next episode launching in two weeks.
