We are looking to make some changes with the Glenwood Herald and are in need of someone to sell ads for us. If you are willing to cover a meeting or two that would be helpful as well. The work will be on a contract basis.
DM me here or email me at [email protected] if you are interested.

We have had several subscribers who didn't receive a renewal notice in February. I want to apologize for this and promise to do a better job making sure they make it to you in the future.
For those wondering about your subscription... You can find your expiration date on your label that is attached to your paper each week.
Once again, I am truly sorry for any inconvenience anyone may have experienced.

Well, I made my first glaring error in the Glenwood Herald this week. (well, at least the first that I have noticed)
As you all know, Centerpoint School District is not in Rosston. It is in Rosboro.
In my defense, I build three other newspapers beside my two. One of the papers covers Nevada School District which is in Rosston. I guess I got the two towns confused in my head.
I will strive to keep it straight in the future. Please forgive my error.
And thank you to those who pointed it out privately by messenger. I can handle criticism, but the gesture was appreciated.

With the second issue on the newsstands, I have a moment to catch my breath before starting on next week's paper.
A few thoughts come to mind...
1) There will always be some level of overlap in coverage with the Montgomery County News. However, I find myself using more than I would like to fill the Glenwood Herald in our first weeks. My hope is there are people or organizations that would like to share what they are doing in the community. Feel free to submit your ideas and/or columns for consideration in our local paper.
2) Our church page is a special space in the paper for me. It took me a long time to start writing a column for it, but I find myself looking forward to it now. I am thankful for Jerry Griffin's article that we print in the Montgomery County News each week and would love to find a preacher or Bible teacher in the Glenwood area who would be interested in sharing a column for the Glenwood Herald. If you are interested please let me know. If we have more than one interested we can always rotate columns in the paper.
3) Local support has been encouraging so far. I know there will be times when we may not see eye to eye, but I pledge to always do my best to provide honest, fair, and true information in the Glenwood Herald. While I am not a "trained" journalist, I have always tried to be as honest with my coverage as possible. I think that is the best approach.
4) I ask for your patience and continued support as we continue to make changes to the Glenwood Herald. We are working on updating our current website to include the Glenwood Herald. Online subscriptions are not currently available, but we are working on that as well.
5) Finally, thank you for your support and if there is anything we can do please let us know. You can send a message here on Facebook, call us at (870) 867-2821, or email me at [email protected]

Changes coming to the Glenwood Herald...
We will try to have something for everyone as move forward here at the Glenwood Herald.
One of the additions coming to the Herald will be puzzles in each week's issue.
Crossword puzzles, Sudoku, and wordsearch have been staples in newspapers across the country for years and we are happy to provide them for our readers.
They are also a great opportunity for businesses or individuals to sponsor and support our local newspaper. Sponsorships start at $20 per week and will include a banner ad along with your chosen puzzle. It will be one per puzzle so get your sponsorship now!
Another change will be with our classifieds.
We are a free personal classified ad per week to all subscribers. The free ad includes up to 25 words and can include just about anything. You can sell an item, rental property, or just want to say hello to someone. The choice is yours! Business classifieds are not included.
Classified ads are $10 a week up to 25 words for non-subscribers and businesses and the classified ads run in both the Glenwood Herald and the Montgomery County News each week for one price!
We also run one free yard sale per month for subscribers. This includes anything we can get in a 2x2 space on the classified page.
Let us know if there is anything else we can include in the Glenwood Herald! Call us at (870) 867-2821, or email at [email protected]
