I’ve been getting a lot of questions about how I got my permanent residency in Australia as a teacher, so in this video, I did my best to break it all down—especially for those who may not be familiar with the terms and process.

📍 STEP 1: AITSL Assessment (Teacher Qualification Check)
* Must hold a 4-year teaching degree
* Requires at least 45 days of supervised teaching practice (practicum)
* IELTS Academic minimum scores:
* Speaking: 8.0
* Listening: 8.0
* Reading: 7.0
* Writing: 7.0
* IELTS Exam Fee: AUD 460
* AITSL Assessment Fee: AUD 1,154
⚠️ No AITSL assessment = No PR invitation
📍 STEP 2: Expression of Interest (EOI)
* It’s like digital résumé submitted to the Australian government
* Includes: education, English scores, work experience, and points
* Wait for a state or federal government invitation
📍 STEP 3: LODGE YOUR VISA
VISA TYPES I APPLIED FOR:
189 – Skilled Independent Visa (I was granted this)
• Federal invitation
• Visa cost: AUD 4,640 (main applicant fee)
• PR granted immediately
• You can live and work anywhere in Australia
491 – Skilled Work Regional Visa (alternate option)
• State/territory invitation
• Provisional visa with pathway to PR (after 3 years)
• Must live and work in a regional area for at least 3 years
MY POINTS BREAKDOWN:
* Age (25–32): 30 points
* Bachelor’s Degree: 15 points
* 5+ Years Work Experience: 10 points
* English (Proficient): 10 points
* No Partner: 10 points
✅ Total: 75 points
MY TIMELINE (2023–2024):
* Oct 19 – Applied for AITSL
* Nov 3 – AITSL result received
* Dec 12 – Submitted EOI
* Dec 18 – Dual invitation (189 & 491)
* Jan 26 – Lodged visa
* Mar 11 – Medical Exam
* Apr 23 – VISA GRANTED! Permanent Resident!
Total processing time: under 6 months (may vary case to case)
