‼️ Penn State is very much still a dangerous team ‼️

They will be swinging for the fences for the remainder of this season… so as a Buckeyes fan, I’m still worried about playing them! And I feel other teams should be too…

Everyone is writing them off after the loss to UCLA, yet they forget about the win over Oregon…

I’m just saying, I wouldn’t be surprised if they go in and disrupt a few teams this year!

In the spirit of Boise State (my Alma Mater) taking on Notre Dame, I went down memory lane from the two times I visited the Notre Dame campus last year while on a work trip!! I’m not there today, this is from 2024, but still I wish I was!

The campus is marvelous! It’s a beautiful stadium with so much tradition!

The second time was incredible as I was able to experience the tour of the stadium with and !!

Love that place! And I love football tradition!

I love that campus!! And for those who don’t know, I cheer for Notre Dame in every game outside of when they play Ohio State (and now Boise State)

You can feel and see all the history immediately when you step on campus! ☘️

Nobody will ever know the conversations I had with myself in order to gut that one out at the this past weekend.

It’s hard to explain what it’s like for your body to not respond. For your mind to have to gut it out and just simply will you to the finish line.

I was asked by my friend today if I could hear David Goggins talking when my body started to shut down?! Hahaha the truth is I really did have the inner Goggins discussions multiple times, along with many other conversations

Not ideal, but I’m proud of myself for making it after all that happened!

Sometimes you just have to find a way 🤷‍♂️

Luckily I also was fitted with apparel so I could have that reminder too 😂🦁

So…not exactly what I had planned, but I finished the , but here’s why this one was brutal!! 👇

Just past the 9 and 1/2 mile mark my hamstrings began to cramp… I pushed through it for a while but then had to walk for a second to shake them out (I’ve never walked during a race, EVER)….

I began running again at 10 Miles, and went another 1/4 mile before my hamstrings started hurting more and more… then I knew it was not going to get better.

I had to run/walk the rest of the dang race! The last mile my quads were cramping so badly I actually feared that I wouldn’t even finish the race at all, even if I was walking past the finish line 🤦‍♂️

But I just kept telling myself, you have to finish. So the last half mile I just blanked out and finished it up!

My goal this race was to be between 2:10-2:20 and I finished at 2:28. It was my worst time I’ve ever gotten… but my body simply broke down and I’m just glad I finished and I’m proud of myself for that!

As for now?! We go back to the drawing board and we fix the nutrition, the training, and the recovery too during the weeks leading up to the races.

But hey, 2 years ago I ended up in the hospital. So in the grand scheme of things this wasn’t the worst case scenario, but I’m still not happy about it!! 🤷‍♂️

Good times though and I’m always grateful that I have the chance to move my body!

Origin of The Gametime Guru

The Gametime Guru is different than other sports podcasts because it’s DIFFERENT. I’m not going to simply provide you with draft analysis, scores, breakdowns, etc. Instead, I provide others with a platform where they can share their stories.

See, sports can teach us so many lessons. Athletes and other sports figures have a story to share, but they don’t always have a platform on which they can share it. That’s what I’m here for.

We will provide you with weekly shows with various individuals around the world of sports. Our goal? To deliver a panoramic view on sports and help you see them through a different lens.

Subscribe to the show on your favorite platform and make sure to take part in the discussions we have on our social platforms as we continue to shine a positive light on the world of sports.
