Introducing the On Cloudflow 5 AD

Comfort reimagined for every step.

Built from the performance DNA of the original Cloudflow 5, the IKON Cloudflow 5 AD takes On’s ultra-light lineage and reshapes it for all-day versatility. You still get the responsive Helion™ superfoam and CloudTec® cushioning, but now tuned for plush, reactive comfort beyond the run.

A streamlined engineered mesh upper with 3D haptic printing, fluid matte detailing, and minimalist overlays brings a futuristic aesthetic that feels as good as it looks. Underfoot, targeted rubber grip pads keep you steady across urban terrain.

Performance roots. Lifestyle flow.
The Cloudflow 5 AD is where speed meets everyday comfort.

What is a supertrainer, and which ones the best?

A supertrainer is essentially a super shoe for daily use. Most of them consist of a combination of race-day shoe geometry, a super-foam, or a carbon plate - with some including all three!

Here Alex has ranked the supertrainers which he’s had the chance to test this year from S (Godtier) to E (Not for me).

Swipe through to see a breakdown of the lineup, and check out the full video on YouTube (link in bio) for the full breakdown on why each shoe earned its spot.

Are there any shoes you think should be moved up or down in the tier list? Or do you think we’re missing any? Where would you put them?

Build Your Ultimate Nike Lineup

From recovery jogs to all-out race efforts - Nike has a shoe for every session.

Nike’s latest collection is all about the Power of Choice: picking the right tool for the right run, and building a rotation that keeps you supported, fast, and fresh all year long. Here’s how the full lineup fits together:

1️⃣ Structure 26 — Recovery & Easy KM’s
Stable. Supportive. Smooth.
Nike’s most structured daily trainer doesn’t try to stop your foot from moving - it guides it. Perfect for those easy days where control and comfort matter most.

2️⃣ Pegasus 41 — Your Everyday Workhorse
Reliable, durable, and grounded.
A classic trainer built for daily mileage across any surface. It’s not flashy, but it delivers every single time.

3️⃣ Vomero Plus — ZoomX for the Daily Grind. A Meta Endurance favourite.
Full ZoomX cushioning gives you protection without the mushy feel. A long-run dream that can still pick up the pace for tempos when your legs need it.

4️⃣ Vomero Premium — Max Cushion, Max Pop
55mm of heel stack. Full ZoomX. Giant Air Pods.
This is the “anti-gravity treadmill” experience. Cushioning and energy return taken to the extreme.

5️⃣ Zoom Fly 6 — Session-Ready Speed
A durable, plated trainer with super-shoe DNA.
Built for progression runs, intervals, and anything that demands controlled pace with extra pop.

6️⃣ Vaporfly 4 — Race-Day Staple
Light, bouncy, responsive.
Ideal from 5K to half marathon, and a great option for fast training when you want that soft ZoomX feel underfoot.

7️⃣ Alphafly 3 — Marathon Mode Activated
Full ZoomX. Air Pods. Carbon plate.
The choice for chasing your limit over 42.2km. Smooth, cushioned, and designed to keep you rolling late into the race.

From stability to super shoes, Nike’s lineup covers every pace, every session, and every runner.

Common running shoes - Then vs. Now

Shoe technology and design have evolved massively over the past few decades - from geometry and foams to materials and fit. Brands have worked to make their shoes lighter, faster, and more comfortable than ever before. Yet, if you look closely, many of today’s models still trace their DNA back to the originals that started it all.

Some examples 👇
1️⃣ Nike Alphafly - Still built around its signature woven upper, ZoomX midsole, and forefoot Air Pods, refined over the years for even more efficiency.
2️⃣ ASICS Metaspeed - One of the biggest evolutions in feel and performance. The first version rode firm and responsive, while the latest Metaspeed Tokyo features one of the softest, most propulsive foams on the market.
3️⃣ New Balance 1080 - From reliable daily trainer to premium max-cushioned comfort, now boasting a completely new foam compound and geometry.
4️⃣ Brooks Cascadia - The rugged trail workhorse that’s adapted to modern materials while staying true to its all-terrain roots.
5️⃣ New Balance Elite - A model that’s evolved into a full-fledged performance racer, leveraging cutting-edge foams and carbon technology.
6️⃣ ASICS Nimbus - Once known for plush gel cushioning, now reborn with advanced FF Blast+ foam and lightweight construction for all-day comfort.
