For those of you who don't know, I was actually able to go on a trip to this year for my birthday, where I was about to gather content for my radio show and "Frequency Horizon" YouTube channel.

In Episode 2 of our "Guadalajara + Puerto Vallarta" series, Bernie aka RESONANT DOG takes me to meet up with Blue Lunar Monkey, who got us hyped up for Mexican waves by playing us the original
"Endless Summer" movie. I think he was stoked to learn that I live just a few blocks away from at least one of the stars of the sequel. Then, as Bernie tried (unsuccessfully) to sell some DJ equipment, we headed to the ocean.

The video starts out with a "music video" for an original techno track I made with Bernie, which features the sound of mosquitos I recorded with my Zoom recorder while up in Canada.

Today I'm debuting the 1st in a series of 4 I made about the trip I took for my birthday to Mexico last month. It was truly an amazing trip where I got to connect with a fascinating maturing electronic music culture in Guadalajara, the surf scene in the Puerto Vallarta area, passionate music producers, Indigenous culture and so much more.

In the first video, I crash my buddy Bernardo De La Torre's brother Renato De la Torre's wedding and head to Bar americas where I interview music producer Dromme.

It's the last pledge drive show, so every contribution will make a huge difference to allowing us to continue broadcasting from Los Gatos to the Silicon Valley region—as well as from our new tower in Santa Cruz (and beyond! at kpcr.org, or via the TuneIn app on the "Pirate Cat Radio" station)

Welcome to the Frequency Horizon podcast. You’ve arrived at the bosom of electronic music, the landscape of experimentation, the birthplace of surf culture. Okay, so I just learned that the first descriptions of surfing are from the Song Dynasty in China, thanks to an amazing Magic Seaweed article. But as far as modern surfing is concerned, California is as crucial a puzzle piece as you can get. And Los Angeles is a place where underground techno finds its way onto daytime radio and international headliners stop off for quick mid-week shows to work out some hype drum n’ bass in an intimate club setting. So strap yourself in for our unique two-hour dose of catchy electronics, exciting techno, meaningful house and plenty of interviews, sonic experiments and creativity, too. It’s the space where sky, sea and sound intersect. This is the Frequency Horizon.
