During my recent visit to Karamoja in the North East of Uganda, I made a short film that explores the complex relationship between wildlife and human conflict in this unique region. A piece that explores the delicate balance between preserving heritage and protecting a fragile ecosystem.⁠

Goodbye 2024, Hello 2025 🎊

We’ve spent the last days of this year hiking and having the time of our life in Kapchorwa. It’s been such a blessing exploring Uganda as a family and we look forward to all the adventures 2025 will bring! ❤️

Santa and his little helper ❤️🎄

I dressed up as the big man for an end of year performance at Kissyfur, where our daughter goes to school. I was pretty nervous as I had never played Santa before. Scouring the internet to learn about the history and what Santa supposed to do and say? An interesting way to relive the excitement I felt as a kid from the other side. 🎥: Day 1 shooting a crowdfunding video for a community football turf in Jinja with ⚽⁠
⁠
Football is the most popular sport in Uganda, however it is often played on subpar pitches. In Jinja, there is only one good pitch, which is fully booked for the majority of the year.⁠
⁠
Last week we had the pleasure to film a beautiful project for the Peace For Paul Foundation. They have acquired a piece of land and will be constructing a professional football pitch which will be rented out for 300 days per year. The remaining 65 days will be given for free to youth teams so that they too have access to a safe place to play.⁠
Born from the drive to become sustainable from within Uganda, this new project will enable the local community to have access to a beautiful football pitch, good footballs and safety gear as well as a clubhouse to enjoy the sport they love.⁠

Now that we're back in Uganda i’m super excited to create more content revolving around the different cultures and traditions that this beautiful country encompasses!⁠

I met Shongz in 2017 when I was doing a roadtrip in Karamoja. He is a talented musician, who is proud of his K'Jong roots. Evelyn is one of his long time friends who is also dedicated to celebrating her origin. When I suggested to do a sunset golden hour shoot to show off their traditional attire, they jumped at the opportunity.⁠
⁠
The temptation of modernization is diluting African traditions around the continent. So when I see young people who embrace technology yet uphold and appreciate their culture, I find it extremely inspiring and it gives me hope. ⁠
⁠
I’ll be in Uganda for the next 5 months, working on a couple of projects around the culture. If you have an idea that involves capturing cultures that you love, hit me up and let us make magic together ✨
