Just days after receiving a historic property donation valued at approximately $400,000, the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office has received another generous contribution.

Smurfit WestRock donated $7,500 to the agency, with Executive Assistant Julie Alexander personally presenting the check to Sheriff Chuck Havard Thursday morning.

The company has supported JCSO year after year, and Havard says the latest donation will help the agency continue serving the citizens of Jasper County.

Beginning Sept. 1, Jasper’s public transit pilot will offer $1 curb-to-curb rides on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Residents can begin making reservations now, with rides available to destinations within the City of Jasper.

📞 Reservations are required, and riders are encouraged to book at least 48 hours in advance.
