A BCPer’s 24-Day Alaska Flying Adventure
Terry Cross, BCP member CAVU, recently made his dream of flying in Alaska a reality—and shared the journey with the community in a two-part photo-filled trip report:
❝ I’ve always enjoyed reading the good questions, advice, and adventures of everyone here… Now, I have something I’d really like to share.❞
Departing Northern California in their 1975 Cessna U206F Stationair, Terry and his son made the voyage north along Canada's Trench route, then spent the following 3 weeks circumnavigating Alaska. They accomplished impressive coverage of the state, from King Salmon in the south, to Kotzebue on the western shore, and all the way to Deadhorse/Prudhoe Bay on the Arctic Ocean, mostly in unexpected high temperatures in the 80°s and 90°s.
❝ In Talkeetna, we met up with a wonderful man—a master guide and life-long bush pilot who willingly shared his knowledge, enthusiasm, and love for Alaska and its people with us…❞
This trip report is full of both adventure and practical flying insights—from route planning and bush strip landings to unexpected challenges in the North.
