Greece 🇬🇷- Athens: last stop for the abroad leg of our summer travels, Athens! Why Athens? It was the cheapest place to fly to from Slovenia 🤣

We’ve been to a lot of the Greek Islands but never the mainland, so ticking off a bit of Greek history as well and eating yummy food and making the most of the hotel pool.

Slovenia 🇸🇮- Piran: just a 2 hour car journey and we feel like we’re in a totally different country! Crystal clear water prevails though 🙌🏻🙌🏻

Slovenia 🇸🇮- Lake Bohinj: the colour of the water in this lakes and rivers is insane 🤯

Less than half an hour drive from Lake Bled is an even bigger lake! Just as clear and you can hire stand up paddle boards for €15 for 2 hours which seemed pretty good!

Next we’re heading to Slovenia’s coast to see the sea 🌊

Slovenia 🇸🇮- Vintgar Gorge: The view from our apartment and another 11,000 + steps today through a gorge with water on a par with the river we saw in a China. We made it back to the car just in time before it started chucking it down, and home in time for an afternoon nap! Just what holidays are made for 🤣🤣

Slovenia 🇸🇮- Lake Bled: After an hours drive in the hire car, we’ve made it to Lake Bled! The clearest water we’ve seen anywhere bar the lakes in the Canadian Rockies. Some swimming (it really wasn’t cold!) a 5km walk around the whole lake and some lunch before we checked into our apartment.

This country is already knocking our socks off! It’s SO gorge! It’s meant to rain tomorrow but let’s see!

Slovenia 🇸🇮- Ljubljana: Day 2 of the cleanest, most chilled and pretty capital city we’ve ever been to! Fact 1: it’s pronounced Loo-blah-na. Fact 2: They love a dragon here. Fact 3: Orange wine is a thing here. I tried it, it was lovely! Fact 3: We haven’t had a bad meal yet! There is a lot of Italian influence on the food, loads of meat and fish and delish puds. We were even offered fresh local chanterelle mushrooms with our dinner tonight!

We have had a fab couple of days walking round the centre of this gorge city. Tomorrow we hire a car and hit the Slovenian roads! Now, where next?

Now where next… Slovenia 🇸🇮- Ljubljana: our summer travels have finally begun. We have our home fully booked with Airbnb guests and we’re off for a slightly more local tour. First stop, Slovenia and the capital, Ljubljana. Dare we say it.. we could live here 🤣🤣

Made Poké bowls for dinner tonight and felt proud…

Not travel related in the slightest, other than we ate so amazingly well for a whole year that I’m determined not to slip into all the heavily processed foods British people eat on the reg.

It was yummy.

UK 🇬🇧- Whitstable, Kent: We’re an Asante down for our first trip since our year away as he’s back in Ghana on the Big Build but we had a lovely few days by the seaside whilst our first guests enjoyed our home!

The Airbnb was super cute, had a lovely garden for us to relax in and Whitstable itself was lovely. A day of walking, mooching in shops, cake, fish and chips and Oysters for the bravest one among us.

SO lovely to be knack by the sea again! It’s been a while 😉🤣
