We lost another good bull last night. Around 8pm, U2 (smaller unicorn) was hit by a car on Highway 34, not far down from Safeway.

Here is a clip of him from last Sunday. He had a harem, and it was my first time seeing him this season.

Please keep your head on a swivel while driving around Estes Park right now. The rut is in full swing, these bulls are full of hormones, and they can pop out into the road in a split second.

Slow down, stay alert, and please watch for wildlife.

Rut madness!!WOAH!!😳 The bull on the left has an antler tip stuck in his forehead!

Things are really heating up around here! Bulls are getting serious and the action is getting crazier by the day!

The mornings have been absolutely beautiful this week. The past two mornings, the fog has settled into the valleys and made for some pretty incredible scenes. And with the bulls getting more and more fired up, it’s been a fantastic week to be out watching the rut!

Sound up!! 🔊 Nothing beats a bugle right in your face! The rut is in full swing here in Estes Park. It was a chilly 36° this morning and we’re starting to see their breath with these colder temps!

Fog, bulls and bugles!

This morning was absolutely gorgeous! One minute you could see the elk, and the next they had completely disappeared into the fog like ghosts. Then a bugle would come from somewhere in the fog and you’d start looking for them all over again! Such fun.

I love mornings like this!
