KCFW NIGHT FOUR: Outfit Breakdown

I’ve had the vision for this outfit in my head for months. I searched everywhere for a skirt like this, but every time I found something similar, the flowers looked so cheap to me. So, taking a note from my girl Nara Smith, I decided to make it from scratch!

Whenever I create a look, I start with a phrase—in this case, “Feminine Power.” I wanted to challenge the traditional idea of power, often represented by a big man in a suit. By pairing that image with a striking, feminine symbol like flowers I wanted to bridge the gap between the two concepts. The result? A reminder that power and femininity are often one in the same.

I pulled inspiration from classic menswear with a black button-up, a skinny tie, and an oversized blazer (with extra shoulder pads for a stronger silhouette). The skirt became the focal point, and I finished the look with black tights and pumps.

Sometimes, if you can’t find the vision—make it yourself.

When all else fails, lean on monochrome styling. I went straight to my trusty investment pieces for this look—items that have never let me down and that I’ve worn on repeat.

This Antonio Malani sheer black blouse layered over a black corset, paired with pinstriped shorts (with a fun surprise of lacy bloomers underneath), adds a playful yet polished edge. Matching tights and a pop of silver strappy heels keep the ensemble sleek. The Good American black leather oversized blazer, draped over the shoulders, introduces a confident, metropolitan flair. I accessorized in all silver to match the shoes, and the look was complete!

KCFW NIGHT TWO: Outfit breakdown

I’ve always been drawn to beading and ornate details on clothing—when done right, they give an air of royalty and elegance, which was exactly the vibe I was going for with this look.

From my closet I started with a base of maroon. This elegant high-neck, long-sleeve dress caught my eye because of the draping at the neck.
To make the dress a little more interesting, I added a stitch to create a mini slit, securing it with a vintage clip earring for a unique detail. Because I love symmetry, I placed the matching vintage clip earring on the opposite side of my jacket.

There’s something about Middle Eastern fabrics used in a modern way that has always captivated me. Many well-known designers, like Saint Laurent, Gucci, and Cavalli, have drawn inspiration from Middle Eastern cultures in past runway shows. For this look, I wanted to create a jacket inspired by the Saint Laurent F/W 2019 collection—that whole collection lives rent-free in my mind. But with time constraints, I set out to some thrift stores to find something that captured the same energy. If it could get me 80% of the way there, I knew I could take it the rest of the way. I tailored it into a cropped jacket, and re-did a lot of the beading, and that was all the time I had, but if I had more time I would have wanted more dramatic shoulders and more beads!

I finished the look with my Dior clutch, sourced by , and paired it with my highest platforms—because if you don’t already know, platforms are my thing.

I’ve recreated two versions of this look, swipe for all the details! 👉🏻

For the first night of runway shows, I went with a blazer and shorts set I already owned that I had tailored to fit but wanted to add a fun, unique element. So, I got creative—I made this scarf from a curtain I had in storage and hand-beaded the center with different styles of beads to give it a more ornate touch.

Now, here’s where things got interesting—right before leaving, I spilled coffee all over my shirt. With no time to change, I improvised, ditched the shirt entirely, grabbed some fashion tape, and secured the scarf to my chest. Crisis averted… but not without a mini panic attack lol.

I accessorized with bold gold jewelry—these earrings are giving Schiaparelli, and the quality is insane. Added a chunky bracelet, some rings, and finished the look with
ivory pumps.
What’s your favorite part of this fit?

KCFW MEDIA NIGHT: Outfit Breakdown

This red mini has put in more work than any other dress in my closet—and for good reason. It’s insanely comfortable and the perfect base for layering, which is basically my love language when it comes to styling. But since this dress lacked texture or pattern, I had a moment the night before and panic-created this blazer… and honestly? No regrets!

Like so many of the girlies right now, I’m obsessed with the bow trend. So, I went all in tailored this XL blazer to fit me—hand-placing bows all over the blazer, each with tiny red ruby crystals in the center. And let me tell you, the response was unreal! Y’all were asking me for the link, but unfortunately, there isn’t one—it’s a Deni original!

I kept the rest of the look sleek with black pumps, a black purse, and minimal jewelry, letting the blazer be the statement.

KCFW Kickoff: Outfit Breakdown

This season, l’ve challenged myself to create, up-cycle, and style outfits using only pieces from my own closet. Has it been easy? Absolutely not. But has it pushed me to get creative and wake up that part of my brain that’s been dormant for a while? Also, yes.

Throughout the week, you’ll see a mix of original designs and up-cycled pieces making their way into my KCFW looks.
For tonight’s fit, every item you see was already in my wardrobe. I started with a deep V bodysuit and a bubble skirt as my base. To elevate the look, I played with accessories and layers-starting with a custom belt designed by
The jacket? A longtime favorite. But by adding removable fur from another coat, it got a fresh update. To pull everything together, I styled it with a wine red-accented scarf (tying into my purse), black cowboy boots, and a western-style necklace to complement the boots.

And just like that, the look was set! Swipe to see how you can recreate it this look 👉🏻
