A camper who was reported missing on July 4 was found safe on July 5 near Lone Pine. The 32-year-old woman from San Diego had gone camping alone and failed to return as scheduled. Her family reported her missing, prompting a SAR operation.
Search teams scoured the area and located her campsite. She was found nearby, having sustained a minor injury that prevented her from hiking out. She was treated for her injury and reunited with her family. Authorities urge campers to always inform someone of their itinerary and expected return time.
