A Four Corners investigation has resulted in a landmark case in the Federal Court.

Our program AI Rising revealed the existence of deepfake po*******hy of Australian women, including seven public figures.

Reporter Grace Tobin and producer Amy Donaldson discovered the identity of the anonymous creator by linking usernames, YouTube pages, email addresses and social media accounts. Four Corners tracked the man to the Philippines and alerted Australian authorities.

Antonio Rotondo has now been fined more than $340,000 by the Federal Court in the first case of its kind in Australia.

A man who made deep fake p**nographic images of prominent Australian women and posted them to a website has been fined $343,500 by the Federal Court — the first case of its kind in the country.

The Australian Taxation Office is responsible for collecting your taxes which helps fund everything from schools, hospitals, roads and government agencies.

They promote their work as world class, but when Four Corners investigated, there was $50 billion dollars they were yet to collect.

US President Donald Trump has responded to a question from the ABC by telling the journalist he is "hurting Australia" and suggesting it will damage relations with the US.

Mr Trump was speaking to reporters at the White House when the ABC's Americas editor, John Lyons, asked the president about his business dealings while in office as part of an upcoming Four Corners investigation.

Americas editor John Lyons tells News Breakfast that he did not think that his questions were provocative and that they were fair and based on research.

Polymetallic nodules on the sea floor rich in cobalt, nickel, copper and manganese could be worth trillions of dollars and mining companies want in.

Most nodules lie in international waters where the seabed and its mineral resources are under the jurisdiction of the International Seabed Authority.

The ISA says no mining of the international seabed should happen until global regulations are in place, but US President Donald Trump this year signed an executive order prioritising seabed mining, even in international waters.
