KZine was started in August 2012 to showcase the work of local artists. Submissions of poetry, photography, essays, short stories, and any type of art are always welcome. I am starting to branch out in the subject matter of each issue. I am also revisiting papers, essays, and other pieces that I have written in college as subject matter for some issues. KZine is an ever-evolving zine, but it will always be centered around the arts, making our voices heard, and dealing with current issues that seem to be swept under the rug by the majority of the population. Several regular back-issues of KZine are currently available, as well as The Music Issue, a special edition, and two issues of KZine Micro, and an issue of KZine Mini. If you’re not convinced by now
Of the severity of your selection,
Not even the pinecones will prevent you.

Round up your risible reasons
And tread the track of undoing.
Alone.
Spew your tenets futilely on their slates.
The depth of your confidence in this myth
Will not permeate.

How could just this one autumn
Prepare you for the winter of your withdrawal?
Did you think you could sustain
On the assets of your arrogance?

It doesn’t have to be that way.

The highway of indecision is cruel,
But I’m still along for the ride,
Even if you don’t admit my access.

This started off as being about the pinecones,
But it’s now strayed so far
From the layout of the initial intention
That I can’t pinpoint the purpose of my pursuit.

Throwback post.

I can't find much solace
In a world that diminishes the fight in someone
Who deserves to win.

The world truly means nothing
When, ultimately, it's all for naught.

What's the point of any of it
When we know we'll eventually just succumb?

I know there's a lesson in here somewhere,
A slice of life gold to which to cling,
But it hasn't been unearthed just yet.
