Sometimes you don't have to go very far to find the most beautiful and amazing places.
Tonight I had dinner with friends at - more on that in second.
I pulled into the parking lot about sunset. I loved the way the light highlighted the Roanoke River Lighthouse and couldn't resist taking a picture.
Edenton is one of those small towns just filled with beauty. You'll find it in the beautiful historic homes along the water, and you'll find it in the people who live there.
Tonight we had dinner to celebrate a friend who is moving to be closer to family. We are all friends and former educators who don't get to see each other nearly enough. We laughed, shed a tear or two, but we mainly just caught up loved on each other.
To me, that's the beauty of a small town. I haven't seen some of them in a few years, but we all talked like it was just yesterday.
We often visit a place because we've seen or heard of how amazing it is. You don't often see its true beauty until you get to know its people.
