Just wrapped up “Jesus and the Lost Goddess” by Timothy Freke & Peter Gandy and I cannot recommend this book enough. Gnosticism can be a pretty challenging philosophy for those who are just now leaving the machinery of organized religion in order to grow spiritually; to move beyond faith and into knowing. That being said, this book is probably one of the best primers on the topic I have read in a long while & its appendix is simply a treasure trove of resources for those on the Path to Gnosis. I highly encourage the seekers out there to pick up a copy, but please leave your conditioned biases and prejudices at the door because the authors make no bones about calling out the errors of “literalist Christianity” in the most cutting and common-sense phraseology I’ve had the pleasure of partaking of in ages. This book isn’t one of persuading readers towards Gnosticism so much as it assumes you are already smart enough to know the “Corporate Christian” enterprise is the Roman Empire in drag. Do yourself a favor and order “Jesus and the Lost Goddess” as soon as possible.
