Children's book author Tracy Warnock will be signing copies of her hilarious and heartwarming picture book, Lukey Loo Goes Trick-or-Treating. She'll have paperback and hardcover books available. Kids wearing their Halloween costumes will be given a special prize, too!

TMP Books is pleased to announce a new service for authors, NOTES by TBR.

Over the years, we’ve discovered authors need different levels of editing services. Our new Notes by TBR service will address a couple of those levels, with Pre-Edit Notes or Post-Edit Notes.

Our Pre-Edit Notes will provide 1-5 pages of notes and may also include some Track Change marks for some items. The notes will offer tips for improving and strengthening the manuscript, which may include comments on punctuation, grammar, sentence/paragraph structure, story, continuity, formatting, and more. We may even spot a “pet darling” or two. Cost is $199.

Our Post-Edit Notes will provide 1-2 pages of notes as another set of eyes on your manuscript before submission. This is not a final detailed proofread, but will include comments on any errors, typos, or inconsistencies we find. Cost is $99.

These Notes are NOT meant to replace comprehensive edits. We offer only ONE SERVICE of Notes, either Pre-Edit or Post-Edit for a single manuscript, not both services. This keeps fresh eyes on your project.

Both fiction and nonfiction are welcome. Word count limit is 80,000 for our standard note rates, but if your manuscript is longer, please contact us for an additional quote. Turnaround times will vary, but our goal is usually one week or less, depending on schedules.

We do not use AI.

Road’s End, Virginia, has a long and storied past. Established around 1765, give or take a few years, it’s seen its share of war (Revolutionary War and Civil War), but those were a piece of cake when compared to the events and day-to-day goings-on with the residents of this old, tiny, and very odd Virginia town.

Some things never change and that’s definitely the case with the residents of Road’s End. Aside from the centuries that separate the current day residents of the village from that of the colonists, they are, for lack of better words, divided into two groups: the sane and the insane.

Current day Road’s End and the same village in the mid-1770s have surprising similarities right down to the quirky (some would say certifiably demented) residents in both the 21st and the 18th centuries. Read how their lives intertwine in this book where you’ll find some new characters from the mid-1770s who helped make Road’s End stronger for those who followed, while the present-day residents find treasures that tie them all together.

June is National Cancer Survivor's Month. We honor and salute all cancer survivors. We also want to share YOUR story in our new anthology releasing later this year.

Submit your story in a Word document, attached to an email, and send to [email protected], with the subject line CANCER WARRIOR. Be sure to put your name and contact information on your document.

500-2,000 words in length

Written in first person (I, Me, My)

Contributors retain all rights (granting us permission to publish) and will receive a byline, bio with headshot and links, and print and Kindle formats of the published book. Contributors may also purchase books at a steep discount to resell, if they wish.

Deadline JUNE 15, 2024.
