Neighbors living at and near 17th and Monaco continue to be vexed by the inaction of to take what seems like simple steps to improve safety at the dangerous intersection. Crashes there are frequent -- one property alone has been crashed into no fewer than five times by cars and trucks in a 16-month timespan.

People living near 17th Avenue and Monaco Parkway say they’ve tried to convince multiple city agencies to make the intersection safer. Their efforts have have so far fallen on deaf ears.

The Colfax Marathon is this weekend. If you're driving in the area, friends, save yourself a big ol' headache and check ahead for Sunday road closures from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. RTD bus and light rail service will also be disrupted that day, so plan accordingly!

Denver, Colorado's only marathon plus a half marathon, and urban 10 miler through Denver's most iconic landmarks. Create a Marathon Relay Team for more fun!
