Coming up is the new SHAPE+ mixtape from Farzané. Broadcasting today at 20:00 CEST.

Farzané (Farzaneh Nouri), an Iranian sound artist, creative coder, and researcher based in the Netherlands, works at the intersection of experimental music and computer science.
Her ongoing practice-based research focuses on embodied knowledge in human-computer free improvisation.

Embracing AI’s fundamental otherness while establishing relational connections, her practice aims at creating conditions of genuine encounter and collaborative destabilization between the artist and the machine.

This speculative approach moves beyond technological determinism and cultural essentialism, exploring how human and machine intelligences might co-evolve through creative tension and collaborative aesthetic discovery.

Farzané is an act of the SHAPE+ platform for innovative music and interdisciplinary art, co-funded by the EU and Pro Helvetia.

Broadcasting the second episode of Noisy Neighbors’ (Swedish title: ‘Bullret I byn’) today at 20:00 CEST.

For over a decade, noise complaints have shaped the music scene in Stockholm. Many venues have been forced to close down or move due to neighbors being disturbed. Noisy neighbors” (Swedish title: ”Bullret i byn”) investigates the relationship between music, sound and city life in the Swedish capital.

The series follows Fylkingen, one of the oldest still active organisations for experimental music in the world, as they are being evicted from their venue after almost 40 years. But they are far from alone.

A series in three parts, where the sounds of the city, memories and actual noise complaints submitted to the Swedish Environmental Department blend together to create something between a documentary and music in itself.

A transcript of the entire series in both English and Swedish is available if you dm us with your email (see the next slides).

Broadcasting today at 20:00 CEST: SHAPE+ Mixtape with Matej Rusmir.

Matej Rusmir was born in Belgrade, Serbia, in 2000, where he finished music school for classical guitar. Soon after, Matej started exploring audio production. Later, in 2016, as he began his career in the underground scene, Matej quickly gained recognition for his distinctive style, blending tribal techno with downtempo old-school trance and ethnic elements.

His production, live and DJ sets are filled with hypnotic and tribal rhythms and motifs that draw the audience’s focus entirely to the sound. Psychedelic tour de Balkan villages and Mediterranean towns mixed with techno and trance elements. As music digging can become similar to tourism, especially if you have time to do it for days in a row, you become hypnotized by different cultures and surprises you hear along the way. That’s where the inspiration came from, to do this tourism mix, starting at 4 PM in a Romanian village.

Matej Rusmir is an artist of the SHAPE+ platform for innovative music and interdisciplinary art, co-funded by the EU and Pro Helvetia.

Where does the inspiration come from when a composer writes music? Howcan you express an idea or story in sound? What is it like to composefor and collaborate with an entire symphony orchestra?

Welcome to a podcast series that follows the collaboration between composer Lil Lacy and Sønderjyllands Symfoniorkester / The Danish
Philharmonic Orchestra (2024-2027).

As composer in residence, Lil Lacy, will compose a Flute Concerto (2025) and a Symphony (2026), and during this podcast we will follow the creation of the works through the first early thoughts, workshops,
rehearsals and premieres. However, the collaboration with the orchestra also includes other dimensions than the actual scores and music – the collaboration is about listening, inspiring each other, creating together and growing relations.

Episode #1:

In the first episode we follow composer Lil Lacy from the very first
thoughts about the collaboration with the Sønderjyllands Symfoniorkester / The Danish Philharmonic Orchestra. Although there are a lot of thoughts behind the inspiration and ideas in the music Lil writes, it is entirely up to the listener how they hear, experience or feel the music. Lil uses these ideas and thoughts to awaken her creativity, to create and write the music.

The podcast is in Danish.

Podcast for Samtidskunst - Kaååråålines Vers

🔜Broadcasting today at 20:00 CEST: SHAPE+ Mixtape with R3YWYA.

R3YWYA is a noise-based project by artist Evija Ābrama, centred on sonic improvisation as a means of exploring communication and the role of noise within spatial environments. Through her work, Ābrama adopts an eco-acoustic perspective, treating sound not merely as material but as a dynamic network of spatial relationships. Her compositions reveal rhythms that both disrupt and echo the ambient textures of the surrounding environment, offering a nuanced reflection on how sound inhabits and transforms space.

R3YWYA is an artist of the SHAPE+ platform for innovative music and interdisciplinary art.

🎼 Listen back to episode 6 of ‘In Residence With: Bella Comsom’ now, on your prefered podcast platform!

In Residence With is a podcast series that delves into the creative processes of sound artists during their residencies at Sound Art Lab in Struer, Denmark. Each episode offers an intimate glimpse into the artists’ explorations, experiments, and reflections as they develop new work.

At Sound Art Lab, Brazilian sound artist Bella Comsom is deepening her research into the electromagnetic fields surrounding trees. Using a handmade antenna, she records these inaudible signals—focusing in Struer on trees growing close to the sea.

Each day, she walks along the coast, collecting field recordings and tuning in to the subtle presences of the landscape, reflecting on our relationship with the natural world. Her practice centers on listening as a way to sense the invisible connections between living beings and their environment.

New episode of My House In Your Haus – an acid special!
tonight at 20 CET on thelakeradio.com
or already in you podcast app on your mobile device

Welcome to the bass ostinatos that sound like dripping acid. Don't worry, you'll understand once I press play on the amazing music that I picked for this Autumn special. Like taking a spin in the washing machine, we love acid, we can feel it and feel it again. This sound is our friend and it takes us to a higher state of consciousness, like fever rays and smelling batine. The leaves are falling full of colors, while we feel love. We feel it again as we discover a track treasure from Poland. Just so glad it found our ears. Taking a chance on an odd product like the TB-303 can create a difference bigger than you ever can imagine, even, or perhaps especially, when it takes a few years till you realize. Housing and Humanity for ALL!!!
