OKENWA and ERIERI
Okenwa needed a huge sum of money to pay for a shop at a good site in order to attract more customers to his carpentry business.
He approached his wealthy friend Erieri for financial assistance.
Erieri remembered how Okenwa's father refused to help him communicate to Okenwa's maternal uncle, D**e, to accept him as an apprentice because Okenwa's father saw him as a naughty boy. So he lied to Okenwa that he recently made a huge long term investment which is why he can't assist him.
Okenwa told him the shop is hot cake and how urgently he needs the money promising to pay him back within three months, trying to make Erieri see reasons to try his best for him but Erieri remembered again how his family suffered in the past that even his mother suffered hunger to death while Okenwa's family was living fine. So he told Okenwa to forget about the shop and stop giving himself a headache for something he can't afford.
Okenwa did not give up. He called his struggling brother, Obinwa, just to try his luck. Fortunately, Obinwa said he has such money in his possession but will account for it in six months time because it belongs to a cooperative where he is the treasurer.
Okenwa promised Obinwa that he'll pay the money back within three months. So Obinwa sent him the money.
The next day, Obinwa's friend Ade, a member of the cooperative, visited Obinwa with good news of the huge amount of return he made from an online investment within one month.
Obinwa asked him while he didn't tell him when he invested, Ade said he wanted to confirm before telling anyone. Moreover it was his upline/referrer that paid for him because he was afraid of investing his hard-earned money in an online business. He'll however pay him back the capital with half of the profit because that was their agreement.
Now he was ready to invest his own money but he doesn't have much so he came to borrow more from Obinwa because he knows he has such an amount he wants to borrow. Unfortunately Obinwa has transferred the money to his brother Okenwa. Obinwa in order to protect himself and his family, lied to him that he is so sorry that the account he puts the cooperative’s money in will not be accessible until after six months. Although within him, calculating the return he could make with the cooperative's money, Obinwa wished he hadn't transferred the money to his brother. At this point they had no choice but to invest the little they have.
Meanwhile the online company was on promo, giving huge referral and welcome bonuses to both referrers and referees. So members are tempted to borrow in order to open multiple accounts and also pay for referees that are afraid of online investment and those who don't have smart phones.
Because of the promo, Ade borrowed from different banks and opened multiple accounts for himself.
Obinwa called his brother Okenwa and told him about the online business suggesting he uses the money to invest, make huge returns and then look for a better shop in the next month after withdrawing his capital and profit from the online company. But unfortunately, Okenwa paid for the shop the same day he received the money from him without delay.
Okenwa was also happy that he borrowed the money from him because he would have been so disappointed if his brother used a cooperative's money for such a purpose because he doesn't believe there's free money anywhere.
Obinwa called Erieri and told him of the huge returns within a short period. He suspended every other investment and payments he needed to make that period and invested a huge amount thanking God he refused to assist Okenwa when he needed his help.
Ade was so happy with his expectations of huge returns. Obinwa was happy for him, regretting the fact that his brother warned him never to borrow money for such business which is why he invested only the little he could spare.
It's about time for Obinwa and Ade to withdraw their money and they were happily planning on how to spend it. Ade planned to reinvest his own after withdrawal.
Their money was due for withdrawal but not fully so Obinwa withdrew some of it so he can have rest because his brother was constantly pestering him to withdraw his money from that company. He was paid with 10% charge as company's tax; but he got paid upto his capital deposit.
He would withdraw the rest on the deal day which is also a tax-free day. Ade refused to withdraw saying he doesn't want to be charged for withdrawing on another day that is not a Tax-free day which is a day everyone gets paid their full withdrawn amount.
Unfortunately and shockingly, the company's website became inaccessible on that awaited tax-free day.
Erica the company's WhatsApp group admin closed their WhatsApp group where the members get updates and information from the company.
The group was opened later in the day and Erica the admin apologized and told the members in the group not to panic that everything has been put in place; that they can now withdraw their money.
The website also became accessible but has an updated look. That before any member can place a withdrawal, he or she would first pay a certain amount of what Erica called government tax depending on the amount of money one has in his or her dashboard.
Many people paid the government tax including Erieri so as to withdraw the millions in his dashboard. Obinwa angrily refused to pay, thanking God he had withdrawn his capital at least. Ade tried to borrow to pay but he couldn't so he didn't pay.
Those who paid the government tax were able to place a withdrawal. Seeing that one can actually place a withdrawal after paying the so-called government tax, more people paid it and successfully placed withdrawals.
Erica informed them that due to the upsurge of withdrawals, it'll take the financial department five to seven days for withdrawals to be processed and encouraged them to exercise patience.
After five days, an investor dropped a payment receipt on the WhatsApp group confirming that he has been paid. Another person dropped his own. Then some people who have been afraid were motivated to pay the so-called government tax.
However, the members later understood that the payment receipts were fake because no other person was paid even after the seventh day.
That's how every investor lost their capital and profits. Yet the company's website is still accessible with some innocent members still paying the government tax.
Suddenly, Ade became the WhatsApp group Admin.
How did it happen? Erica the group Admin exited the group and according to alphabetical order, Ade is the first member on the group list so Admin fell on him.
When everyone started attacking Ade as the group Admin, he also left the group to continue viewing it through Obinwa's WhatsApp until many people left and Obinwa also left the group.
As a result, Erieri's level swung from grace to grass while Ade's own penduled from grass to root. Of course, Obinwa's family went for thanksgiving because what happened in their family got the family members speechless.
After three months, Okenwa fulfilled his promises by paying back the money he borrowed from his brother Obinwa with an additional amount as appreciation.
His efforts to get the new shop on a good site weren't in vain after all. His level has eventually changed from grass to grace.
Due to the huge losses Erieri incurred due to his greedy investment in the online company, his business was badly affected. So he needs a great support to rise again.
He is contemplating on going to Okenwa to ask him for financial help but he doesn't know if he will listen to him or not. So he is confused.
What's your suggestion for him?
What'll be your advice to Okenwa if Erieri summons the courage to ask him for financial help?
Thanks for reading.
