✨ 27 years ago today. ✨

Monica Helms, a trans activist and Navy veteran, designed the Trans flag on August 19th, 1999. The flag was debuted in the Phoenix pride parade the following year. The original flag is now preserved at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History, as of August 19th, 2014.

Helms says "The pattern is such that no matter which way you fly it, it is always correct, signifying us finding correctness in our lives."

🩵 Light Blue — The traditional color for baby boys

🩷 Pink — The traditional color for baby girls

🤍 White — Those who are transitioning, non-binary, intersex, or questioning.
