LORQUIN'S ADMIRAL bring together current and former members of Afghan Whigs, Hermano, Yawning Sons, The Fizz Fuzz, Orquesta del Desierto, Sons of Alpha Centauri and Luna Sol in a striking heavy psychedelic collaboration that blends soulful harmonies, rich atmospheric layers and powerful guitar driven riffs.

🔥 MEET THE BAND: RHINO 🔥

RHINO is one of the most powerful heavy stoner rock bands to rise from Italy, forged in the sulphuric atmosphere of Catania on the slopes of Etna and rooted in a sound that blends 90s and 2000s stoner and desert rock with the swirling psychedelia of the 70s.

Their trademark is a monolithic wall of fuzz, relentless riff worship and an electrifying live presence that has taken them across Italy, sharing stages with Red Fang, El Perro and many key acts of the national heavy underground. From their early self titled EP to the crushing debut The Law of Purity, RHINO have evolved while keeping their volcanic grit intact.

Their latest full length Human Farm, released in 2024 via Argonauta Records, stands as their most atmospheric and mature chapter, carving a distinct identity within the modern stoner landscape. The band also appears on Spaceship Landing: A Tribute to Kyuss (by Witching Buzz) with a roaring cover of Green Machine and is already working on new material that promises to push their heaviness even further.

OLTAS Join Forces with Octopus Rising/Argonauta Records. New Single Out Now

Netherlands Doom Death Metal force OLTAS have inked a deal with Italian powerhouse Octopus Rising/Argonauta Records. The band, known for a sound that blends unorthodox heaviness with deep emotional intensity, now begins a new and promising chapter in their artistic journey.

The band comments:
"Ever since 2012 Argonauta Records has been a steady force bringing relevant underground stoner, doom and post metal bands to their next level. After exploring viable options for our next chapter, we decided to sign with Argonauta. OLTAS is excited about this new partnership and we are sure Gero and his team will boost our music further than we ever imagined."

OLTAS craft a unique mix of slow and shadow filled doom, sudden surges of fierce aggression, and rare moments of brightness. Their music reflects the vast and diverse Frisian landscapes where they grew up, shaped by wide horizons and shifting atmospheres. Lyrically, the band unveils personal stories and inner motives while taking a critical look at the human condition and our role within it. By confronting the inner tyrants that limit us, they aim to inspire collective awareness and positive transformation. This is doom metal that searches for spiritual connection rather than surrendering to despair.

Their new material expands a discography that already includes the EP Illusion Of Control released in 2021 and the 2023 single This Is Not Here. Each chapter marks a clear evolution in both sound and vision.

💥 Borrower sign with Octopus Rising/ Argonauta Records; new album underway 💥

Italian heavy prog metallers Borrower have officially joined forces with Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records, marking a new chapter in their long running presence within the local underground. Their 2023 single Dream on Fire, supported by a striking music video, is available here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XPwNrzAvhmI.

Formed in Presicce, Italy in 1993, Borrower quickly established themselves with early demos like Black Fire and Barrier of Truth, later followed by their 1996 self titled release Borrower, which cemented their distinctive heavy and progressive sound. Over the years, lineup changes and collaborations with other acts further shaped their identity. After periods of pause and side projects, the original members reunited in 2016, eventually releasing the A Plague Chapter… EP in 2018, introducing theatrical elements, masks, and a cinematic flair to their live performances.

Strengthened in 2022 by the addition of Matteo Marzo on bass and Matteo Marini on live guitar, Borrower returned with renewed energy and began work on their upcoming album Killerdemons. The lead single Dream on Fire encapsulates their signature mix of powerful riffs, progressive arrangements, and vivid atmospheric tones.

Appealing to listeners of Motörhead, Dio, Judas Priest and fans of both thrash and prog influences, Borrower are ready to reaffirm their presence in the hard rock and heavy metal landscape through their new partnership with Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records.

Drone Doom Voyagers OWLS OVER OAKS Join the Argonauta Records Family

We are proud to welcome Owls Over Oaks into the Argonauta Records roster. Rising from the depths of Italy’s extreme underground, this powerful trio channels a crushing and hypnotic form of extreme drone doom that pushes darkness to new limits.

Created by Valerio “Leynir” Possetto, former bassist of Enisum, the project reached its full shape with vocalist Elisa “Aeretica” Iacopini, previously active with Amethista, and drummer Roberto “Bob Rip” Ripollino, known for his work with Nihili Locus and Nerocapra. Together they forge an overwhelming sonic identity built on dual bass lines, analog recording, and a complete absence of guitars.

Their upcoming album O.O.O. is the first chapter of a larger trilogy and unfolds as a single apocalyptic litany, steeped in bleak atmospheres inspired by the world of Mad Max.

Today the band unveils its debut single Owls, mastered by James Plotkin, a first descent into their pitch black soundscape.
