Deutsch mit Julia The lessons are posted from Ireland by Julia who is living abroad since 2005. She is a German native speaker, born in Berlin and has has studied French in the past. This project was born due to a period

of unemployment and has quickly found an audience with 22 000 views within 2 years on U-Tube. 'Wechselpräpositionen' need either the accusative case or the dative case. Be aware! You can test by asking 'Wo?' (Where?) or 'Wohin? (Where to?) --> Wo? + dative case, Wohin? + accusative case. Usually the verb also indicates weather dative or accusative. Movement or direction indicates the accusative case while a place with no movement or direction indicates the dative case.

It's been 10 years since I posted this German lesson on YouTube. Amazing!!! They are in little use nowadays with sooo many other great teachers now online. However, I am still out here and active at times and if you like my lessons then please tell others 🙂

I believe in teaching and learning sentences by listening. All my clips are made this way. However, this lesson could have done with some grammar explanations... the verb 'stehen' + 'unter / auf / hinter / zwischen' etc. usually requires the dative case but I suppose you know this now!
