Assam's young skating sensation Navhyam Nihan Borah has added another feather to his cap by winning a silver medal at the International Speed Skating Championship 2026 held in Jakarta, Indonesia, from May 29 to 31.

Representing India, Navhyam competed against skaters from countries including Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar and Indonesia. He secured the silver medal in the 400-metre Speed Race in the Basic Inline Skating Boys Category C, showcasing remarkable skill and determination on the international stage.

The young skater also delivered impressive performances in other events. He narrowly missed qualifying for the final of the 300-metre race and advanced to the semi-finals of the 500-metre event. Navhyam was also part of India's team in the 1,800-metre International Team Relay, which narrowly missed out on a podium finish.

The achievement marks another milestone in Navhyam's promising sporting career. Earlier this year, he emerged champion at the 25th National Speed Skating Championship held in Chennai, strengthening his reputation as one of India's most promising young skaters.

A monkey created chaos near the Bulandshahr district court in Uttar Pradesh after snatching a bag containing nearly Rs 2 lakh from a man and scattering the cash from atop a tree.

The bag belonged to Ravindra Lodhi, who was carrying the money—mostly in Rs 500 notes—to purchase stamp papers on Saturday. The monkey grabbed the bag, climbed a neem tree, tore it open and began throwing bundles of currency to the ground.

The unusual incident drew a crowd of lawyers, court staff and visitors, who rushed to collect the fluttering notes. Locals attempted to lure the monkey down with bananas and even threw stones at the tree. Most of the cash was eventually recovered, with reports stating that around Rs 1.98 lakh was returned to Lodhi.
