Another brilliant weekend job completed.
Pitch and Putt Ireland held their National Matchplay Championships in Erry, Clara, Co. Offaly over the few days from 31st May until the semi-finals and finals on Monday 2nd June. This was their first time ever doing a livestream of their flagship event and we were delighted to be asked along and bring the game to the masses. The weather held and despite a power issue as we went live all went really well at a beautiful course. Delighted also to have our great friend Con Murphy on commentary with a rotating crew of co hosts describing all the action from around the course, especially when we were not able to get to all the holes as the play was frantic at times. All in great fun with great people and a super competition.

What an absolutely insane week we had last week starting out on Monday 19th May in Tallaght Stadium for League of Ireland football with 24/7. REALLY early Tuesday morning we nipped around the corner to the Meadows Equestrian Centre for a full day of showjumping with qualification for Irish championships on the line.

Wednesday we headed back to Dublin to cover an Irish Language speaking event for Gael Linn and had Thursday to recover and prepare for a massive weekend ahead. Friday it was back to Dublin for LOI again with 24/7 and then a sill early start (after working to 2.30am editing NIFL women's Premiership match highlights when I got home) and headed off to Ballymoney.

I often say what we do, is an honour and privilege, but Saturday truly was. The 25th Anniversary celebration for one of the greatest ever motorcycle road racers, Joey Dunlop. The rain poured down, but what an honour to provide the live broadcast for the event.

After only 2 hours sleep, it was back on the road to Newry, where we provided LIVE coverage for teh first time for Newry City NewryCity Runners and the Newry City Half Marathon/ 10k The weather gods were good to us and we had a ball, bringing yet another prestigious event to a world wide audience. Home and sleep.

To say we have a blast is an understatement!

Friday evening past, 9th May 2025 we were back at Solitude for the first round of the Northern Ireland Football League women’s premiership game between Cliftonville and Linfield. It was a brilliant evening. Maybe not for the purists that follow football, but two teams hoping to start the season on a high note and finished the evening sharing the spoils.

Saturday 10th May and we headed to Mary Peters track for the Belfast Irish Milers Meet day of top class athletics. Another day of unreal weather, talent and racing. Some top current and future stars on show. Boy do we love our work

Another busy weekend of sport behind us.
Friday evening was back in Inchicore, Dublin at Richmond Park for the LOI game of St. Pats v Sligo. A cracking game with 7 goals

Saturday was BBC SportNI duty, first at the Culloden Hotel for the IFAB conference with the IFA and FIFA. Later in the afternoon it was back to the Culloden for the Irish Cup semifinals draw livestream.
After a quick break it was down to the SSE Arena to the Crocker Donovan fight night.

Sunday was a trip up to the north coast town of Ballycastle for Ulster GAA Minor Hurling championship final between Antrim and Down
