Merry Christmas everybody! I know I’ve been MIA on SummerInYEG for a little while, but I wanted to check in and say that I’m still here! Truth is the last few months have been a little rough on the mental side of things, and insanely busy within other projects I’ve got my hands in, and that doesn’t even include working full time on top of all of that 😅, so I had to take a step back from here for a bit, and shift my priorities for a while just so I could find my footing and balance and get reacquainted with myself again. Sometimes it’s easy to lose yourself in social media when you’re on autopilot and when you realize you’re on it, the realization kinda flips a switch in your brain that asks the tough questions, and tells you to search for the answers. SummerInYEG has always been about sharing my passion for this city, and showcasing the things about it that people can often overlook, especially the talented local musicians, the lesser known but brilliant festivals, the tattoo artists, and photographers. But the thing that I loved more than anything was getting to know the people behind the art, and listening to their stories. Building friendships with everyone I would meet. Naturally in the times we’ve been in these last couple of years up it’s been a little harder to do, and posting in such an organized five days a week schedule was starting to feel like I was doing this more so for the sake of posting 5 days a week, rather than showcasing my authentic love and passion for this city and it’s people. So when i pick this page back up again in 2022, I want to make it about exploring the city, and showing what it has to offer rather than exploring the hashtags and reposting what I liked. See you soon!
