Nature Aware Magazine Nature Aware Magazine is a quarterly publication centered on wild spaces, animals and their conservation.

Diversity in science is showcased by researchers in emerging fields. Nature Aware Magazine is filled with Epic Content, in Epic Context. Nature Aware is the result of author Rick Wood's personal growth from tragedy and loss to enlightenment and purpose while photographing animals in the wild for more than 5 years. It highlights the state of our environment through stories of close encounters with bears, seals, orca whales, foxes, and many, many more wild creatures.

My new children's book, Little Mango, is available starting TODAY!!!
There's still time to order now and receive it for the holidays! I think it would make a perfect stocking stuffer 😁.

I'm really happy to share the story of Little Mango, which is based on my real-life observations of wild long-tailed macaques for the past three years.

Developed with guidance from several early childhood education professionals, parents and children, the book explores themes of independence, curiosity, attachment and coping with fear. Little Mango is an uplifting and educational storybook made for emerging readers and children of all ages.

Illustrated by me, the detailed images help the readers know the amazing world Little Mango lives in and all of the exciting creatures who share his home.

Parents, teachers, children and animal lovers will delight in this finely crafted tale.

The book also contains an educational resource link/QR code to take readers deeper into Little Mango's unique ecosystem.

My hope, as a citizen science primatologist, is that the book will inspire an interest in long-tailed macaques, who are currently an endangered species.

Many folks are spending more time outside, closer to home. Gardening, feeding birds and wildlife, hiking, and camping seem to be all the rage currently.
