Lobos face Pleasanton in Devine tourney

The Uvalde Lobos will play the Pleasanton Eagles at 9 p.m. today in Devine Tournament volleyball competition.
They will play in the Bronze Division in the final day of the three-day tournament.
The Uvalde-Pleasanton winner will play at 11 a.m. against the winner of a 9 a.m. match between the D’Hanis Cowgirls and the Harper Lady Longhorns for the Bronze Division title, while the 9 a.m. losers will play at 11 a.m. for consolation.
Friday, the Lobos downed the Natalia Mustangs, 26-24, 25-27, and 25-20, in pool play, while the lost pool matches against the Ingram Warriors, 25-18 and 25-11, and against the Antonian Apaches junior varsity, 25-17 and 25-17.
On Aug. 26, the Lobos will make their home debut when they host the San Antonio Kennedy Rockets in Harvey Kinchlow Gym.

The newspaper’s investigation, published Aug. 17, revealed unreleased texts and emails, missing video and audio from the shooting, and discrepancies between administrator’s communication logs. The firm noted these same deficiencies, and their letter states that the media companies will seek sanctions from the court if Uvalde CISD continues to withhold records.

Pen 2- female, 1-2 yrs, 41lbs, the absolute SWEETEST girl, happy smile, loves affection, 7/10 on leash, some pulling but isn’t scare of it, easy to handle, dog tested well, a little nervous.

Pen 3- male, 2-3 yrs, 43lbs, very friendly, definitely husky personality, vocal and active, 5/10 on leash, not scared of it, just pulls, dog tested well, however is trying to jump on others, so just be mindful when introducing him, otherwise seems like a good fluffy boy

Pen 8- male, 3-4yrs, 60lbs, very very sweet boy!, doesn’t mind peoples affection, 6/10 on leash, isn’t scared but lots of pulling, dog tested well, deserves a chance!

Pen 12-male, 3-4months, 24lbs, sweet baby!

Pen 13-male, 6-7 months, 38lbs, timid but sweet, a little shy coming out of the kennel, but friendly, no fear biting or anything, 6/10 on leash, definitely knows some but nervous about walking, dog tested well. Safe!

Pen 15- female, 6-7 months, 31lbs, shy at first, once she was outside and meeting others she opened up a lot, very playful, 5/10 on leash, a little scared of it, some pulling, dog tested very well!

Pen 17-male, 3-4 years, 18lbs, goofy little guy, very flinchy/hesitant, but otherwise people friendly, 6/10 on leash, dog test went okay, he didn’t really want to meet the others, but showed no aggression. Safe!

The Uvalde Athletic Booster Club presented scholarship awards to four 2025 Uvalde High School graduates. Victoria Martinez and Jaxon Parker each received a $2,000 scholarship, Natalie Ramos was presented with a $1,500 scholarship, while Ashlynn Aguero was the recipient of a $1,500 scholarship.
