🚨 Premiere Alert 🚨 Bulgarian Beat Wave returns with an expansive volume that will premiere tonight on ! The second compilation was created in October last year by near the tranquil, spread-out seaside village of Arapya on the Black Sea coastline. They spent 4 days off-season in a trailer camping park creating a project to show how packed, yet diverse the music ecosystem is in Bulgaria. “The result was undoubtedly beyond our expectations. A diverse and non-linear sonic experience,” says the team.

A new bill introduced in California aims to let food and live music come to cannabis lounges.
“It sounds like such a nice experience — let stoners get together, smoke, eat, and listen to music. We're doing it anyway,” says Leafly Senior Editor David Downs.
At the 🔗 in our bio, Downs breaks down how the bill could change cannabis lounges in the state, how likely it is to pass and walks us through what the industry and consumers are feeling about it.

In the decade after World War II, the communist Soviet Union officially banned rock, jazz, and blues music. But people made bootleg versions of that music — recorded onto thin sheets of X-ray film.

“Maybe you knew somebody. Maybe you could go to somebody's apartment who was making or dealing these records. But if you didn't, you'd have to go and seek dealers out on the street, and they would be hiding out in alleyways, in flea markets, in dark corners. … They would take out from under their shirt, this wad of flexible records, and they would sell you one. You would go home scurry home, hoping that you'd actually got what you asked for,” Stephen Coates, author of “Bones Music,” tells ’s Press Play.

Soft rock is a creature of the 1970s that many choose to write-off as insipid. Yet, songs like “Tiny Dancer,” “All Out of Love,” and “Baby Come Back” remain undeniably catchy bops that generations return to for car rides or karaoke. The three-part documentary “Sometimes When We Touch” explores the rise of soft rock and its influence on today’s music.

“Pretty much anything that was mellow was originally called pretty music, beautiful music — rock music for people who don't like rock,” says Lauren Lazin - the documentary’s executive producer and director in her interview with on ’s Press Play.
