PRAYER ALERT: Rights vs Freedoms—Belize’s Gang Violence Dilemma
We have the right to some freedoms, but not to others. Especially not the freedom to infringe on the rights of fellow citizens. When a gang war erupts, Belize police call for State of Emergency (SOE) that suspends freedoms. They conduct warrantless searches, take known gang members into custody and limit movement. But that has become controversial, leading to difficult court cases that lack enough guidelines to follow.

Belize’s 13th amendment seeks to provide those guidelines. Specifically, it establishes a National Security Council to decide how to apply and enforce those guidelines. And a Gun and Gang Court to prosecute offenders according to the guidelines. But drawing up guidelines only begins to solve the problem.... PRAYER ALERT: Stop Legalizing Pot—Belize Island Wants to Go it Alone
Three years ago, the churches gained enough signatures to force legalizing pot to a national vote. But some village councillors on Caye Caulker island—where I live and work—found a loophole in the law. Apparently, one community in Belize can hold a referendum and legalize it for that community only. Then Caye Caulker got enough signatures. So it will hold a village vote on Oct. 8—while I’m recovering from urgent gall bladder surgery in the US.

For three years I’ve collected dozens of articles on the dangers of marijuana, in case someone revives that cause. Including articles on the following topics:
--Inhibited head growth of fetuses in smoking pregnant women.
--Also inhibited brain development in teens who smoke regularly.
--High-THC concentration hemp packaged in gummies and other snacks for kids.
--Smoking kids more likely to develop anxiety and depression and suicidal --thinking. And to suffer arrested development of key bodily functions, causing lung damage and heart disease...

And the list goes on and on. Adults and entire states and nations—especially small Caribbean nations—face dangers too. But how do we communicate all these dangers to the voters? Where we have God's will, we have God's way....

PRAYER ALERT: Sleeping Giants Awaken—With 32K TPUSA Chapter Requests
Did they think that to kill Charlie Kirk meant the end of Turning Point? No, quite the opposite. Instead, within 48 hours of his assassination, Turning Point received 32,000 chapter applications. if we add the 27,000 high schools to the 4,000 colleges and universities in the US, we have 31,000 total. Conceivably, Turning Point could assign a chapter to each one.

Or how about reaching nations that have responded to the assassination with demonstrations and vigils? Including the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, South Africa and Australia? New chapters could reach these nations online and help them develop their own nation-changing Turning Points.

PRAYER ALERT: Who's Next After Russian Drone Wave Shot Down over Poland?
European countries near Russia like Latvia are seeking an anti-drone system after the recent Russian drone attack on Poland.
Polish PM Donald Tusk called it the most serious threat to Europe since WWII. Specifically, at least 19 Russian military drones violated Polish airspace during an assault on Ukraine. Poland is about 400 miles east of Russia. Between the two stands Belarus, a Russian ally, from which some of the drones launched.

The rest of the drones flew over Ukraine which also shares borders with Poland and Russia. Dutch and Italian surveillance planes helped Poland intercept several drones. Moreover, eight drones crashed after getting shot down.

PRAYER ALERT: Bolsonaro House Arrest Draws 50% Tariff from US
On Aug. 4, the Supreme Court of Brazil had Jair Bolsonaro put under house arrest. They accused the former president of plotting a coup to stay in office despite his alleged 2022 defeat. US President Trump, who faced similar accusations after the 2020 election, imposed a 50% tariff on Brazil. Specifically, he tied it to the “witch hunt” weaponization of the judicial branch against Bolsonaro.

Prosecutors accuse him of leading a criminal organization to overturn the 2022 election. Moreover, they charge him with plans to kill the current president, Lula da Silva, and Alexandre de Moraes. De Moraes, the highest Supreme Court judge, has long fought for increased authority in Brazil. Already in 2022 he had ordered investigations of Bolsonaro’s reelection campaign. And he jailed some of Bolsanaro’s supporter for “attacks on the nation’s democratic institutions.” Now the US State Department calls de Moraes “a US-sanctioned human rights abuser”...

PRAYER ALERT: Colombia Pres Hopeful Dies of Assassin's Gunshots
At age 5 he lost his kidnapped journalist mother who died during a botched rescue attempt. Then on Aug. 11 at age 39 Miguel Uribe Turbay died of gunshots from a 14-year- old assassin. It happened during a June 7 Bogota rally for his conservative presidential campaign. While being arrested, the boy assassin shouted, “I’m sorry, I did it for the money, for my family.”

For which money? From a drug gang like the Medellin Cartel which kidnapped his mother in 1990? During the 80s and early 90s, that cartel committed 3000+ assassinations including 500+ police officers. So far, Colombian prosecutors have arrested one alleged accomplice and one alleged mastermind. But we have no names for the suspected assassin, accomplice or mastermind...

PRAYER ALERT: 100 Million Gaza Meals Served—a Food Aid Crisis?
Do we have a food aid crisis in Gaza, or a fool’s aid crisis? In other words, who’s fooling whom? Already the New York Times has had to apologize for viral photos of an emaciated “starving” child. Actually, as David Collier reported, he has “cerebral palsy, hypoxemia, and…a serious genetic disorder.” All pre-existing conditions unrelated to hunger.

Other media photos of “malnourished” children also proved to be hoaxes. Clearly, the mass media is having a hard time finding real starving children. They aren’t reporting the elephant in the room—100 million Gaza meals served in two months. And to a Gazan population of now estimated at 823,407, according to World Population review. That amounts to an average of 121 meals for every Gazan, or two meals a day.

Who is serving all these meals? Not the UN, which has far less successful Hamas-infiltrated feeding operations. Nor Hamas itself, which often attacks and steals from food convoys. PRAYER ALERT: Woke Origins—From Marxism to 21st Century Narcissism
Can we find a method to the madness of woke ideology that has swept over the US in only a few years? Yes, says Catholic philosopher Bishop Robert Barron. We can find it in the combined influence of 19th century philosophers Marx and Nietzsche and 20th century philosophers Jean-Paul Sartre and Michel Foucault. Their often dense, complex writings have filtered through universities into our youth culture. And those youth grew up to become the main woke and DEI enforcers of today.

They have a method behind this madness. But there is also madness behind their method. “The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God’” (Psalm 14:1). For “has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?” How has the resulting woke ideology become both mad and foolish?... PRAYER ALERT: Anti-Trump Colluders Face Grand Conspiracy Case
We thought it was just the DNC and Hillary behind the Russian collusion hoax. They dishonestly used that hoax to smear Trump during the 2016 presidential race. Now newly-surfaced documents show the then-CIA director John Brennan learned of the hoax. Then he then met with VP Biden, FBI director James Comey, and Director of National Intelligence James Clapper.

In Brennan’s own handwriting, he explains why he shared Hillary’s plan with them. Why? "To vilify Donald Trump by stirring up a scandal claiming interference by the Russian security service." They all knew it was a hoax, but they cooperated by letting Comey and the FBI weaponize it. Specifically, their “Crossfire Hurricane” investigation aimed at persecuting Trump. And of course they leaked it to the anti-Trump media. But they never found evidence of wrongdoing by Trump. And they failed to stop him from winning.

PRAYER ALERT: Colombia Rebels Bomb Police After Assassination Bid
On June 10, at least four people died in bomb attacks on police stations in Colombia. Immediately, the police and military blamed them on FARC-EMC. This group broke from the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia after it signed a peace deal. The bombs detonated in cars and motorcycles parked near the police stations.
Only three days before these attacks, presidential candidate Sen. Miguel Uribe was shot. After the police shot the 14-year-old gunman in the foot, they held him as a contract-killer suspect. PRAYER ALERT: Dual Churchgoing—Doubled Activity or Divided Loyalty?
A recent poll shows 46% of church-goers attend more than one church. As with every new normal, this post-Covid phenomenon has pros and cons. So let’s clarify what this attendance means.

The survey shows that out of the 46%, “22% said they physically attend more than one congregation. An additional 10% reported attending a congregation other than their home congregation virtually or via a television broadcast. The remaining 14% attend at least one other place of worship virtually and in person.”

The 4 pros: First, they learn appreciation for other parts of the body of Christ...

PRAYER ALERT: Biblical Heaven-view vs. World-view of Global Issues
To have a biblical worldview means to see every issue—personal, local, national, global—through the Word. “All things came into being through Him” (John 1:3). And the Father seeks “through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, whether things on earth or things in heaven.” Because for all things He “made peace through the blood of the cross” (Col. 1:20).

We cannot have a biblical worldview without seeing God’s ultimate purpose to reconcile all things. Not only on earth but in heaven.
