Life isn’t guaranteed to be easy. In fact, doesn’t it feel like the closer we get to God, sometimes the more trials we face?
Of course we know this is because the enemy doesn’t spend a lot of time on those already living a life of sin. They’re on the “right” track, but those allowing sanctification in their life, whew better watch out! Jesus left the 99 for the 1, and guess who was trailing closely behind with a new target in his sight.
However, we are children of God and according to several places in The Bible, including Rom 8:17, we are co-heirs to Christ inheritance. Not as a condition, but stated as a fact. Everything is already His, but because of His love for us, He invites us to share it all with Him.
You know, on their death bed, a family member removed me from her inheritance. Taken right out of the will because she felt I didn’t call her enough. A sentiment of not being enough, echoed my whole life, was confirmed in the most hurtful and heart shattering way.
After many, many, many cries out to The Lord, He has taken that hurt and used it to bring me closer to Him, because He is my loving father. Those entrusted in my blood line are flawed, sinful and in need of a Savior just as much as I am. So it’s expected they would cause hurt in others lives.
The beauty is knowing that my Savior is perfect, loving and kind. He draws me in when His children hurt His other children. He promises to never leave me or forsake me. He says my child, I have an inheritance for you that will never be removed, needed to be earned and will never be determined by your works.
And He says that about you, too.
Life will bring us pain. Sometimes it comes stacked on top of loss from a family members death. Jesus collects those tears, wipes them away, pulls your hair out of your eyes, gently lifts your chin and loving looks you in the eyes to say “I love you, my child. I’m all you need”.
Take those deep, locked up and key thrown away hurts to Him. He wants them. He knows of them already, He is waiting for the invite to heal them. Surrender them and watch how He heals your heart.
