PASAY CITY β€” In line with the intensified campaign against illegal drugs, authorities successfully intercepted eight abandoned inbound parcels containing suspected illegal drugs at the Central Mail Exchange Center (CMEC), Domestic Road, Pasay City on May 11, 2026.

The operation was conducted by intelligence personnel of the Philippine National Police Aviation Security Group (PNP AVSEGROUP) and members of the NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (NAIA-IADITG) following routine screening and inspection procedures on inbound parcels originating from California and Oregon, USA, and intended for recipients in Cavite, Laguna, and Misamis Oriental.

Authorities discovered approximately 3,407 grams of dried leaves suspected to be ma*****na kush with an estimated standard drug price of Php 5,110,500.00.

The suspected illegal drugs were concealed inside various items such as calendars, books, and clothing materials in an attempt to evade detection.

The parcels were initially flagged during X-ray screening conducted by Bureau of Customs personnel and were subsequently subjected to K-9 inspection and manual examination, which led to the discovery and seizure of the suspected illegal substances. All parcels were declared abandoned at the time of interception.

Following proper inventory and documentation, the seized evidence will be turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) for laboratory examination, further investigation, and proper disposition in accordance with existing laws and procedures.

Saad ni PBGEN Dionisio B Bartolome Jr, Director of PNP AVSEGROUP. # # #

Pasay Cityβ€” A complaint from a transport driver regarding alleged extortion led to the arrest of two men who later allegedly resisted and verbally assaulted police officers during an operation along Imelda Avenue, Brgy. 200, Pasay City on May 11, 2026.

According to the personnel of Mobile Patrol Security Unit of AVSEGROUP, the driver sought police assistance after two individuals allegedly approached his vehicle while a passenger was boarding and forcibly held the passenger’s luggage while demanding money. The driver reportedly handed over cash out of fear before being allowed to leave the area.

MPSU personnel immediately responded and verified the incident together with the complainant, who positively identified the suspects. During the confrontation, the two men allegedly refused to cooperate, became aggressive and shouted insulting remarks to the responding officers.

The suspects were immediately taken into custody and brought to MPSU Headquarters for proper documentation and investigation.

Charges for Violation of Article 151 of the Revised Penal Code (Resistance and Disobedience to a Person in Authority or the Agents of Such Person) and Article 358 (Oral Defamation) were later filed against the suspects through E-Inquest Proceedings before the Office of the City Prosecutor in Pasay City.

Currently detained at the custodial facility of the 1st Special Operation Company, the suspects are awaiting court resolution from the Office of the City Prosecutor, Pasay City.
