Djing
It’s so much more than what you see.
It’s doesn’t just start at the first tune that hits the speakers and end when the music stops.
It’s hours trawling through tunes and promo tracks on various websites and platforms all these tunes need reviewing before you can download/access them.
These files then need to be analysed listened to and sorted into playlists.
Hours spent building relationships with your clients so you can make sure their needs are met. All the while setting boundaries and trying to keep them in place.
Hours spent keeping your social media presence up to date and engaging your followers making and sharing promotional assets.
Hours either side of actual active DJ time setting up/breaking down, load in/out and travelling to gigs.
Giving up weekends and family time and never getting a social life. Ever. No NYE , birthday parties, family gatherings and special occasions gone.
DJs only get two chances a week to earn a living.
Thats 8 days work a month. Sometimes ten if there’s a long month.
It’s precarious , exhausting and a lot harder than most people think.
Be nice to us, be kind to us , we work really hard to make you happy.
