I've been thinking about the coordinating flannel-lined jeans and blouse sets from the 1940's and 1950's (see last photo), and decided to make a set for myself! Check out last week's YouTube video, if you'd like to see the process.
I used a 1940's reproduction pattern (Simplicity 8447) for both items, altering the pants front to have deep slash pockets with vintage-y top stitching details. I drafted my own back pockets, and added some fun top stitching to them as well. The jeans are of course lined in cotton flannel, making them the softest, coziest pants that I own!
The blouse isn't anything too special, but I couldn't resist cutting a few pieces in the bias for some fun design elements.
I'd like to make another set one day, in a slightly more 1950's style well (tapered jeans)! It was certainly a fun project to cross off my list!
