Happy Fourth of July Barrington! FSHD Warrior Joanne Dalessandro and her supporters will march tomorrow in the Barrington parade, led by a classic 1957 Chevy Bel Air in the first wave. Look for lots of cute pups wearing red “Fido Fights FSHD” bandanas. Want to join the walking parade group with your pup? See contact info below. Barrington hosted the top FSHD Walk event in the nation last year, and the community is determined to keep that momentum going—especially in support of local resident of 40 years, Joanne Dalessandro, who is living with the disease. For more info visit: FSHDsociety.org or contact Joanne at [email protected] or call 847-502-7794. Here Joanne share’s a recent Proclamation by Illinois Gov. Pritzker with Illinois State Senator Darby Hills. Chicago is on board with the fight for a cure for FSHD. The two Prudential buildings, the Tribune Tower (shown), Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois, and John Hancock Center also lit up the sky with orange.
