Christian MLB Players Under Fire from God-Haters and Need Your Support
Major League Baseball is threatening Christian players with fines up to $10,000 for writing Bible verses on their caps during a Pride Night game. This is a direct assault on religious freedom in professional sports, and these brave players deserve our backing.
During a San Francisco Giants-Chicago Cubs game on "Pride Night," Giants pitcher Landen Roupp took the mound wearing the required rainbow-logo cap. Rather than simply comply, Roupp and fellow pitchers JT Brubaker and Ryan Walker wrote "Gen 9:12-16" next to the logo, a reference to God's rainbow covenant with Noah after the great flood. A fourth pitcher chose to go hatless entirely.
The MLB responded by declaring Bible verses "offensive" and threatening future violators with fines up to $10,000. The backlash was swift. Actor Rob Schneider pledged to personally cover the fines of any targeted player, and Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier warned the MLB that religious discrimination against players in his state will not be tolerated, stating, "You'll be hearing from my office soon."
Professional sports have become increasingly hostile to Christian beliefs, pressuring players across the NFL, NBA, and MLB to wear pro-LGBTQ messaging on their uniforms, regardless of their deeply held faith. These three Giants pitchers chose conviction over compliance, and they need to hear that Americans stand with them.
Sign the AFA petition to encourage Landen Roupp, JT Brubaker, and Ryan Walker to keep standing firm in their faith!
