Deadbeat Club Press Deadbeat Club is an independent photobook publisher & coffee roaster based in Los Angeles.

Established in 2011 by Clint Woodside, Deadbeat Club is an independent publishing group & coffee roaster located in Los Angeles, California. Rooted in contemporary photography, our ethos on small run, limited edition publications carries into our small batch single origin, signature blend and limited release coffees. Each Deadbeat Club project is selected with the expectation of collaboration and

a longstanding partnership. Working closely with photographers and artists around the world, making sure their original vision is never compromised, we produce a body of work that we are proud to share with our community. Likewise, our extension into coffee is another way to facilitate community and enhance the photobook experience. Each bean is chosen for taste as well as its positive impact on the local farm community, with quality & traceability at the forefront. Roasted without natural gas and without harmful emissions, we aim to make a positive impact with a good cup of coffee that feels good to purchase.

The Weight Of Ash by is now available for Presale - "There is a moment after a wildfire burns but before humans return," says Bates, "where the land and forests are both beautiful and terrifying."

The book is a collection of gripping and poignant work presenting the many complexities of fire:
its towering, overwhelming beauty and its destructive capacities.

From an essay contributed by Daniel Gumbiner:
"Taken over a five-year stretch, at over ten separate fires, these photos focus specifically on
the aftermath of a fire. Bates was often in these fire zones on assignment for news organizations, documenting the fires as they transpired. But while he was there, he began to take other kinds of photographs too. Photographs that place
the natural and human world into conversation and, in doing so, draw our attention to the paradox of wildfire in the contemporary West."

First 100 copies come signed by the artist
Special Edition also available, signed, numbered, with print.

A recent feature on 's Gure Bazterrak by for . Thank you, Josh, for your thoughtful consideration of this decades long project, and especially for getting to the heart of Anne's work: "Although there is romance, there is no romanticism. The lives Rearick depicts are beautiful, but they are hard. She seems to stand beside her subjects rather than above or in front of them as though there is a shared purpose to her image-making. A desire to give, as well as to take."

Taken between 2016 and 2018, the pictures in 's "Let Me Sow Love" go beyond simplistic confrontations and stereotypes to present with remarkable clarity a compelling portrait of an utterly realistic human community at a unique and radically insecure moment in the country’s history.

Set in Middletown, a working-class small town along the Hudson Valley, and sparked by the unsettling sight of a hate symbol, Let Me Sow Love exists in the middle of myriad 21st-century American realities.

Where there is hatred, let me sow love.

Highlight of the year! 🙏🏽 More kind words on 's "Pestka" from 's

Which book of 2024 was the highlight of the year for you?
At rhe last minute: Pestka by Magdalena Wywrot. Now and then, seemingly out of nowhere, a rough talent emerges that shows how vital, lyrical and exciting photography can be. In an apartment above Krakow, the Polish Wywrot documented her life in grainy, contrasting black and white images. At first purely for fun, but as she got older and the photos became a real project, more orchestrated. Outside, the quiet city looks gray and gloomy. Inside, life buzzes together with her growing daughter, the imagination crackles and mother and daughter experience their own special fairy tale in a dark glow.
