“It’s always ‘pay your fair share’ until it’s one of their own with their hand in the till…”

Angela Rayner’s £40k stamp duty dodge should remind us of John McDonnell’s words: “Every penny that is avoided in taxation by the super rich means the NHS doesn’t treat patients as well as it could, our children don’t get the investment in their education they could and it means less safety on our streets.”

Rayner used to cheerlead that line when it was aimed at Tories. Now it lands squarely on her doorstep. Because whether it’s Labour, Tory, or the new breed of red-washed extreme centrists, the story is the same: one rule for them, another for us.

🚨 Today, Keir Starmer warned that Israel’s escalation in Gaza “will only bring more bloodshed.”

However, even today, in light of the Hague's investigation into Israel's war crimes, irrespective of media coverage or at least what can be covered, he still refuses to call this a genocide.

But let’s not forget, it was HIS words along with other world leaders that gave the green light to genocide.

Now, overnight, Israel’s security council announced it will occupy Gaza City, with Netanyahu declaring plans to take control of the entire territory. Even Lib Dem leader Ed Davey has accused Netanyahu of plotting “ethnic cleansing” and urged Starmer to sanction Israel.

Starmer now says: “The Israeli Government’s decision to further escalate its offensive in Gaza is wrong… It will only bring more bloodshed.”

Yet on LBC, not long ago, he stated: “Israel has the right” to withhold power and water from Palestinian civilians. He added: “Obviously, everything should be done within international law.”

🔎 Fact check: There is nothing in international law that permits collective punishment of civilians.

Words have consequences. And we remember his.
